Art-on-the-Fence was launched in Kin Kin this weekend with the works of 10 local artists hung on the "street gallery" fence along Main Street from the Kin Kin Depot.
The idea of Art-on-the-Fence is to give local artists the opportunity to show their works and sell them without having to pay any fees - no charge to exhibit and no commission payable when something sells. We came up with the idea benefit both the village and its creative inhabitants.
It rained too consistently on Saturday to allow any paintings to be hung along the fence. But on Sunday we hung all of our contributions out in the morning when the day was looking bright. We took the paintings down every time it rained and put them back out when the showers stopped - five times in total. Our rain gauge showed 35ml having fallen for the day.
We intend to hang Art-on-the-Fence every weekend until Christmas and then start again in the New Year. Anyone wanting to submit artwork for a weekend should contact Max on 0418395928. Artists will generally drop off their work on Saturday morning and collect it late Sunday afternoon. We will put the work under shelter on Saturday night and hang it out on Sunday morning.
Works submitted must have a tag with a price, and contact name and number for the artist.

Fresh gifts . . . 4 days a week

Kin Kin’s own vast gift emporium - The Depot – is going to be open every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from now until Santa finally slides down the chimney!

So, when you are in town picking up the mail from the post office or a coffee from the cart or a pastry from the pub you can find fresh gifts in Main St too, from 9am - 4pm.

Our pressies start with stocking fillers at $5 and have been chosen to enchant everyone from children to hard-to-please grown-ups . . .without breaking the bank.

Calling all Kin Kinians and art lovers - hot on the heels of its inaugural success - the Art Fair is back in time for Christmas. And it’s market day too so come on down. 620 visitors admired the work of 17 artists at the first Fair and they will be back with some new talents too. See you in The village on Dec. 5th!
