This Subaru STI hatch recently came through the workshop for a flash tune on the standard ECU! šŸ”„

A few runs and some fine tuning on the Mort Sport dyno later, and it’s dialled in and ready to hit the road.

Sometimes it’s simply about making what you’ve already got work better. Who doesn't love a sporty daily driver?

Now this is a roll cage we’re happy to seešŸ‘Œ

If you’ve been following our GT-Four ST165 build, you’ll remember the existing cage we made the decision to remove after finding a number of issues during our initial inspection.

Fast forward a few weeks and the Celica is back with its brand-new eight-point National Rally spec weld-in cage, built to comply with current Motorsport Australia regulations.

A huge thanks to Ryan at Elite Fab Works for an excellent job on the new cage, the workmanship speaks for itself. šŸ‘

A pretty satisfying before and after, but more importantly, this customer’s build now has the safe, solid foundations it deserves.

The cage is in and ready to do its job. Now it’s back to the MortSport workshop to continue bringing this GT-Four rally car together!

A fresh coat of paint for the KE70 šŸ˜

As part of its very well-earned birthday, the shell has been sandblasted to remove years (and quite a few layers) of old paint, taking it right back before receiving a fresh coat of paint.

After more than 50 events, it’s pretty satisfying to see this old rally car looking this fresh again.

Next stop: back to the MortSport workshop, where the rebuild begins and we start putting this KE70 back to its former glory. šŸ

Another batch of MortSport Subaru Alternator Relocation Kits being built and heading out the door!

Designed for Subaru EJ engines, our relocation kit moves the alternator and power steering pump to tidy up the engine bay and, more importantly, provide better access to the intake hose - making maintenance and restrictor checks at events that little bit easier.

Designed with rally cars and real-world servicing in mind, because sometimes the small changes make a big difference when you’re working on a car between stages.

Each kit includes the alternator bracket, power steering pump bracket, bolts and belt.

Many of you will remember the Toyota KE70 we ran at the Alpine Rally in 2022.

The KE70 has completed over 50 events during its life as a rally car. This well-used car was well overdue for some serious love and is currently undergoing one massive birthday.

It has been stripped back to its bare bones, treated for rust, and had a number of sections in the floor repaired or replaced after years of rallying. It is now off for a fresh coat of paint before returning to the workshop to be put back together.

There is still plenty of work ahead, but once it is finished, this KE70 will be back to its former glory and ready for its next chapter.

Before āž”ļø After

A customer’s Toyota Celica GT-Four ST165 gearbox has gotten some attention as part of a full rebuild.

With these cars now getting on in age, finding new replacement components can be difficult, and second-hand parts are often the only option. That means taking the time to properly inspect, clean and rebuild what is available.

This gearbox casing has just been vapour blasted by mackay.vapour.blast.services and is now looking fresh and ready for the next stage of the rebuild.

It’s all part of getting this customer’s GT-Four back on the stages and keeping these iconic rally cars going šŸ‘ŠšŸ

One of our customer builds is almost ready to hit the stages. šŸ‘€šŸ

After plenty of hours in the MortSport workshop, it’ll make its competition debut at the end of the month.

We can’t wait to see this one out there doing what it was built to do!

Out with the old, in with the new. šŸ‘Š

Following our recent post, the existing roll cage has now been removed from this Toyota Celica GT-Four ST165 and the shell is ready to make the trip to Brisbane for a brand-new weld-in cage built to current Motorsport Australia regulations.

It might not look like much at the moment (and it certainly isn’t the prettiest stage of the build!), but every great rally car starts with solid foundations.

We’re big believers that it’s worth taking the time to get the bones of the car right before moving on to everything else. Once the new cage is in, this build can really start to take shape.

Trust us… this one’s going to be something special. šŸ”„
