A standout large-format residence in Northern New South Wales, designed around expansive architecture, outdoor living and an impressive pool environment.

Signature Architectural Lighting provided the Lighting Design and complete project supply, developing a considered lighting solution that works across the residence, landscape and pool areas as one cohesive experience.

The focus was on creating warmth, depth and atmosphere after dark — highlighting the scale of the architecture, key materials and outdoor zones without over-lighting the space.

From internal architectural lighting through to landscape and poolside illumination, every element was selected to support the design intent and elevate the project as a whole.

Something special is taking shape on the Gold Coast.

We’re excited to be involved in the lighting design for this luxury pool and landscape project, where architecture, water and landscaping come together to create a truly impressive outdoor environment.

The lighting approach will focus on enhancing the layered pool design, landscape features, pathways and architectural elements — creating depth, atmosphere and a completely different experience after dark.

Projects like this are exactly why considered lighting matters. It shouldn’t simply illuminate the space — it should become part of the architecture.

A quick introduction from Signature Architectural Lighting

For those I haven’t met yet, I’m Ben Marshel, Director of Signature Architectural Lighting.

My career in the industry started on the tools, spending around 14 years as a commercial electrician before moving into electrical drafting, engineering and ultimately specialising in architectural lighting.

That practical foundation has always influenced the way I approach lighting. A great project needs to look exceptional, but it also needs to be technically sound, buildable, maintainable and appropriate for the budget.

Over the years I’ve continued to develop that experience through formal study, including a Master’s degree in Lighting, and I’m proud to be an MIES member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of Australia and New Zealand and a member of the International Association of Lighting Designers.

Today, Signature Architectural Lighting works alongside Architects, Building Designers, Interior Designers, Builders, Electricians and Developers, providing specification-quality architectural lighting, technical advice, education, lighting design and complete project supply.

We currently welcome clients and project teams to our Kingscliff consultation studio and showroom at 2/38 Marine Parade, Kingscliff NSW, and we’re excited to be working towards opening a second consultation space in Queenstown, New Zealand, supporting Queenstown and the wider Southern Lakes District professionals.

Over the coming weeks, I’ll be personally reconnecting with many of our existing clients and introducing Signature architectural Lighting to new practices and project teams across Australia and New Zealand.

Whether we’ve worked together for years or haven’t met yet, I look forward to catching up, hearing what you’re working on and showing you where Signature Lighting is heading next.

A relaxed coastal approach for one of Byron Bay’s most recognisable retail destinations.

For Mercato on Byron, Signature Architectural Lighting provided the lighting design and project supply, creating a considered solution that feels refined without being overworked — warm, comfortable and completely at home in the Byron environment whilst keeping within the Design And construct constraints of the project.

The focus was on practical architectural lighting that supports the centre’s retail and hospitality spaces while maintaining the easy, understated character the region is known for.
