~𝑇𝑂𝑈𝐺𝐻 𝑇𝐼𝑀𝐸𝑆~
This is the post I did not want to do.
For 3 days my news feed was filled with distressing images of the catastrophic flooding that swept through the Northern Rivers, with the riverside town of Murwillumbah being amongst the hardest hit.
After seeing images of how widespread the water was, especially through the industrial estate where the factory was situated, it seemed unlikely that my business would be ok. But until I could see it with my own eyes, I guess I tried to remain hopeful and downplayed it in my head that everything 𝑚𝑖𝑔𝘩𝑡 be ok even though my gut feeling told me otherwise.
So after finally being able to get down to the meatlab, I can 💯 confirm what my gut was telling me that everything went under water 😖
In fact nearly the whole factory went under water, along with everything in it. The muddy water mark left behind on the walls was about shoulder height throughout the whole building.
Absolutely devastating scenes 💔
My heart goes out to Billy and Janice, the Mt Warning Natural Smoked Products family who have been very accommodating to allow Bootstraps Beef Jerky to operate on premises - watching someone else’s hard work get washed away is equally heartbreaking.
Bootstraps Beef Jerky has taken a big hit.
Mt Warning Natural Smoked Products has taken a massive hit.
Along with every other business in the area 💔
HUGE clean up is in progress.
There’s plenty of people and businesses throughout the area that could do with a helping hand right now, so if you feel you wanna contribute somehow, there are many ways you can help, or just come on down and get stuck into it if you don’t mind getting dirty 🐮
*the green circle in pic is roughly where the meatlab is 😳
