Hello friends and followers!
I hope this finds u all well!
Along with my recent share on my Art of ION page, re where I’m at with my art biz, and life, I felt it’s time for an update on my Chilli biz too.
Purely for those interested, and my own self-expression.
Some dopamine perhaps? 😂

Truth is I feel this page is not just for my Chilli sauces, but all things garden n growth related!
I have been at absolute capacity with my current workload, but driven by a huge and heartfelt goal.

Re all the menial steps along the way, I want to share that I finally managed to get some good soil mix sorted in concrete mixer and save some chilli seedlings that have been languishing for waaay too long!!
Even this was a feat after my main garden got wiped out in Cyclone Jasper and I never really got time to reboot it properly.

The rains are finally subsiding and with mower fixed, a rare sunny arvo to chug through what felt like an ocean of grass!
I get such a sense of satisfaction from mowing, ‘things we CAN control?’😆
Realming through thoughts as I tactfully dodge sandpaper vine n wild raspberries on perimeters…grab the little ‘glimmers’ of smells, butterflies in path, the kingfishers who swoop down to grab exposed fodder, the lemons that donk my back as I pass under them…but speaking of lemons, lessons also…

So tired the other arv after work, when I began tackling the first segment of this well overgrown jungle, thinking how I wish ‘the world would shut up n be silent’ for a sec, and nek minit, I’m squinting horrified at the mess on the lawn and realised twas my iPhone 12 Pro, fallen out of pocket and mowed over!! 🤦‍♀️🥴.

Well tbh I kept going on mower for a bit, until it too decided to s**t itself…and then I just cried with the overwhelm of all I’ve been dealing.
Omg, Mercury retrograde be GONE! And “God grant me the serenity…” 😂🙏

No comms for a moment created some panic. But then I realised I still had Dads old iPhone that I helped him buy online. Clearing it was necessary, and hard 😔, but I know he’d approve ❤️🙏
Even in spirit he still has my back, and thanx to the magic of iCloud, I was able to reboot everything over last couple of days.

So, rinsed as I am, this arv felt good, to get to the garden again and finish the job, mower fixed, phone firmly in pinafore chest pocket, to capture some little bits of magic n try ‘make the work fun’ as I go…

Nostalgic as I prepare myself to soon leave this Fairyland home and haven with all her magic n critters I’ve so loved, my solace and sanctuary.

The baby fruit trees I put in through covid now big and strong and fruiting, will bless the next custodian, along with my ‘renegade R2E2 mango tree’, that I stealthily planted at the back of next doors school oval, so that one day the kids can pick its fruit and climb it!…my small givings to the world in my humble capacity 🙏.

The demands on small businesses make it hard to stay afloat tbh.
New laws now require Food Safety Supervisor Certificate to be re-done every 5yrs, in order to keep Food Licence. I did mine 6yrs ago. Was given a deadline to re-do the Cert.
So that was another big goal kicked in recent weeks, attained just yesterday, so yay, my Food License remains! 👏👌.

Meagre as it looks, saving these few chilli seedlings was pertinent, as it will keep my seed stock running until I can re-settle in new home 🤞, and enough produce in box freezers to tide me through another couple of sauce batches.

Riding these huge waves of transition, letting goes, and the work required to maintain everything, as gracefully as I can.
Always wishing well the all, counting the blessings in each little moment, and hopefully continuing to bring you all fresh batches of these awesome chilli sauces as my other little sideline business that keeps my hands in the dirt 😜 and rewards me with all the reminders that natures cycles bring.
Doing my best to ‘stay in my lane’, and keep on swimming 🧜‍♀️.

Thank you for your continuing support.
With love, gratitude and grace,
Imogen ❤️🙏🌱🌶️🦋🪲🧚✨

Hello my chilli lovin’ community! 🤗🌶
It’s been a literal ‘Hot minute’ since I last updated you all 🥵😆
Despite a challenging couple of months following TC Jasper, including the destruction of my chilli gardens and loss of produce in box freezers, I’m happy to announce that over the last couple of weeks I managed to restore the garden beds, all turned over with fresh fert., and plant out the seedlings I saved under the house during the cyclone! 👌🌿
So this awesome little sauce business ain’t done yet baby! 😉🌟
Great to finally feel I’m climbing back on the horse, or Dragon rather 😉🐉, and restoring some order, inc.the grass which was up to knees due to all the nitrogen this Wet, and my mower that was out of action the last month 😂.

Although the ‘Abundance Zone’ website still remains active, in an act of consolidation, I have now migrated the sauces into my website as well!

Crafted from a variety of chillies grown in my own backyard, my 3 sauces- Bushfire Blend, Smokey Styles & Tropical Tangents, include exotic tropical ingredients like 'purple dancer' eggplants and black sapote...fresh mango, tomatoes, raw honey...fresh lychee, red papaya from the Tablelands, spices and more! If you haven't tried them yet, I warmly welcome you to drop in-store for a taster.
A flavourful gift and reminder of the Australian rainforest region for far away friends, or that chilli enthusiast in your life!

I’ve also included some ‘fruit tree spam’ coz I’m so proud to be picking my first ever produce from these grafted trees I put in during covid!
Hello 2024! 🤗🤌
Boosting all my best energy, with goals to thrive beyond survive in the year ahead, & wishing an abundance of peace n prosperity to all you good people!
❤️☀️👣🦋🌿🤟

Dear FNQ mob-
I am SEEKING 2nds LOCAL PRODUCE for fair bulk $rate if poss?
- Lychees, mangoes, wild rosella, black sapote 🙏.
And super hot CHILLIS if anyone has a freezer stash? 😆🤞
- Choc.fatalis, habanero (red/choc/orange), ghost, scorpion, reapers (do still have several kg of these), and even little de-stemmed bush birds-eye 🙏🌶
-
As most of u are probs aware, we’ve had cyclone/floods up here in FNQ.
It’s been immense and widespread and ppl are exhausted of course, but all helping each other gradually rebuild n recover in each our local communities and it’s just amazing n beautiful to see the care n support blooming all around like wildflowers! 🙏❤️☀️👣🪷

Very grateful to say I’ve been lucky in my home, and have been out helping others less fortunate as much as I can, but also must try keep my own cup at least half full too, if I’m to continue to do that.
My chilli n eggplant garden be pretty well cactus now 😂.
Some seedlings saved under house but they’re a way off.

This little chilli biz baby’o mine was born from love, good intent, seed n soil about 6.5 years ago, and has weathered the hell n high water of previous flood in Koah, a break up, covid, now this latest. 😂
So I don’t intend to stop now! 👣🌶🌟🐃

Tryna run my 2 big box freezers on geni for a week alternating leads everywhere etc, has resulted in quite a mess, as although mostly stayed frozen it’s gona be a big job chipping things outa the solid block in bottom of one.
Sooo, any help/ leads for above produce be greatly appreciated!!

And ultimately would love to find a chilli (and poss.eggplant) GROWER/S
who may be able to supply me in future?…as I’ve been needing to outsource this aspect for a while now anyway!
Don’t need huge amounts.

ALSO if you’re a fan of my sauces, any online sales would be greatly appreciated atm, as like everyone I had to close shop for a coupla weeks, so we all missed the pre-Xmas boost as we head into quiet tourist season up here, but of course the rent don’t stop 😆.

I now have the sauces available on my art website too,
www.artofion.com.au
in the section ‘Kuranda Hot Sauce’
as I work towards consolidating both my small businesses in one place 👏.
Or the Abundance Zone one still remains active too.
www.abundancezone.com.au
Thankyou so much 🙏🥰

I feel that such major weather events are an absolute and oh so humbling re-set, in reminding us the things that matter most, and I’m wishing you all out there a beautiful Xmas with your loved ones, full of blessings and cheer and good will!

My dearest friends, followers and chilli loverz! 🌶🌱🤗

I am so excited to announce my first ever EMAIL LAUNCH this Tuesday 24th October!
I have been busy bringing together my creative expressions
ART, PRINTS, POETRY & my small batch HOT SAUCES on my ‘digital shopfront’ at
www.artofion.com.au Please take a look! 👌🎨🌟

The days are warming here and although my garden was struggling due to lack of time, I finally gave it a good re-boot of fert and mulch, so all will soon be thriving! ☀️💦🌶🌱🍆👌

I will continue to keep this page for all things chilli related, but if you have previously purchased sauces via my Abundance Zone website, I need to let you know that I will soon be phasing this out and moving all to my Art of ION website! I will keep existing sauce website until I’ve used up my current/previous labels and made new ones!

Working towards a vision of spending more of my days painting and creating in my garden, I am building up my online presence so that I might share my work with as many lovers of rainforest art as possible!

I warmly welcome you to sign up to be part of my online community and occasional newsletters including my poetry, stories from behind the scenes, news and special offers!
Thankyou
Love n light n well wishes,

Some ‘awesome Sauce’ stories! 😆
A beautiful sunny day of doin’ the saucey do! 🤗☀️🌶🌱…
On the road, traversing the expansive Tablelands!
Another productive day outside of being ‘retail girl’ in my little shop Art of ION…
So valuable are these days to me!
This is why I realise I must keep this, my sauce biz baby, ultimately consolidate it into my Art biz, rather then running as 2 seperate entities as I have been…

‘Cause it takes me to all these wonderful places,
and the ppl I meet, the friendly faces,
from farmers n primary producers,
to other small biz owners!
From re-stocking sauces with The Humpy in Tolga, to picking up packaging etc in Mareeba…out Dimbulah way, to the beautiful Skybury Farms Cafe & Roastery with its elevated vistas, for another big sauce re-stock 👏
(Thankyou to this beautiful Sth African family who have shown me support since early days in this venture! 🤗🙏),
then to their massive packing sheds, whence I am privileged to source paw paws for my ‘Tropical Tangents’ sweet chilli sauce 👌🥰…
then to some of the ‘salt of the Earth’ Italian farmers whose strong, warm n weathered hands I shake, like Carolina n Mario for my freshly grown tomatoes,
a load of hay bales from Joyce n fam, then bags of pearlite from out Emerald Ck way (for the small garden where I grow my chillis n eggplant)…
scored some hopeful connections for next lot of fresh mangoes too🤞…
and finally back home to Kuranda to unload…plus some treats for self n my Beanie dog from the local butcher up there 😉🐾🥰…ahh haha!
This is how I roll with all involved
in this lil Chilli sauce biz!
Due to cook up a new batch imminently👌🌶😋
Next time I thought, be nice if I try get some lil vids n shots of the journey to share…
from the Kookaburras n white cockatoos n rainbow honeyeaters who seemed to swoop in my path to show me I’m on the right track, out there with the wind in my hair, to the vast n mesmerising views of that dry country n distant blue ridges,
to the genuine n hard working ppl I connect with along the way to find the ingredients I need… 🤌👌👣🙏🥰
Alll of this is what goes into these excellent small batch Hot Sauces!

As I gradually begin to integrate them into my website www.artofion.com.au
I look fwd to sharing more ‘behind the scenes’ stories in my blog posts and poetry there!
V excited about this new evolution!
Sending out hearty warm flavours to all!
Imogen ❤️☀️🙏👣🌶🌿🤟

My garden! ☀️🌱💦🌶🌷🍆🌿🦋🐸🐝
My happy place, solace n grounding, calm in midst of gales I ride ‘outside’, in many hats 👌👣🥰♾️
…a different kind of work, love getting my hands in the dirt! 🤲
My chillis n eggplant for the sauces are boosting nicely, and other things thriving with these cooler days too!
When recently landed home from my final
Art of ION decor job for the year, at Rootbound Festival, I went a bit mad in bunnings nursery (😜goodways 😆😉), buying more veg seedlings, n flowers 🥰🌸…
such late n persistent rains we’ve had in FNQ… got dem babies in ground in recent windows of sunshine 🤗☀️…
Twas my prayer that somehow I’m gona be able to stay in my home here, tho’ nothing yet in stone, I am hopeful 🤞🙏
So I’m including some extra pics here, of the magical garden where I tend, n grow some of the produce for these awesome sauces I’m still making nearly 6 years on!
👍🌱🌶… Pls check out www.abundancezone.com.au
to order online! I can post anywhere!
Thanx n bless, Imogen 🙏❤️🤟

Finally got my eggplant n chilli babies in the ground last week after Solstice,
to be helped up with the new waxing moon 🤗🥰.
It was a shock to hear recently that the beautiful home I’ve rented here for nearly 4yrs, will go on the market in 3-6months.
I will miss my Fairyland garden here.
But ‘go forth with love and trust we must’, is my new motto 😆💫, so I still had to put the seedlings in, and hopefully whoever buys this place will love n respect it the same, and still let me come harvest my produce, until the can get gardens going again in new home 🤞.
Here also are pics of the ‘Mandy-Ups’ 😆( was told was a Murcott mandarine?), but never seen fruit stick up like this before, like flowers!)…these and the 2 avo’s, rollinia and a lime, are grafted fruit trees i planted during covid and a very lonely difficult time here. Tending this place has been my solace and healing.
Lastly a funny little pic of a ‘fairy’ I found in the garden 🧚😂, and the strangest bright pink rainforest fruit that grow here, but they are bitter, not Lilly pilly.
Wishing health and abundance to all as the Wintery days begin to lengthen again…and of course nothing better then an awesome hot sauce to keep u warm n hearty! 😉
Oh, and this years new food licence! 👌
☀️💦🌱🌶❤️🙏

Annnd lil bit of an update on where the chilli sauce biz is at!…
Coupla full days in commercial kitchen in last 2wks and yippee, all stocked up with new batches down of all 3 sauces! 👏🥵😆👌
Also gained 2 new outlets in the last month! 🤗…
- WholeLife Healthfoods Markets in Cns Central, who are also stocking my Art of ION greeting cards (Thankyou Trudy!)
- And the picturesque ‘Skybury Cafe & Roastery’, between Mareeba and Dimbulah, since I began sourcing beautiful pink pawpaws (red papaya) from Skybury Farms to add to my Tropical Tangents Sweet Chilli Sauce!
(Thankyou Marion, Candy & Anuschka!)

My ‘purple dancer’ eggplants and chilli seedlings are boosting nicely and nearly ready to go in the ground as the days cool. 🥰

Life’s been extremely busy what with keeping my little shop open 5days as well, the juggle is real! Doing my best to ride my own momentum and trust the outcomes.
Pretty sure these sauce batches just keep getting better as I streamline the recipes and the process!
If you haven’t yet tried them, please do! 😋
See pinned post for my local outlets, or you can buy online at- www.abundancezone.com.au
Thankyou 🙏❤️🌱☀️🌶

Appreciation post!!
Tomorrow, April 1st (tru, no’ foolin’ 😜😆), will be 2 years since I officially opened my little shop ‘Art of ION’ at 4/13 Therwine St. Kuranda!… i like to see it as 4/4 =heartbeat! 🥰👏🥳
Despite all odds and much adversity I’m proud to say I’m still afloat!
This shop is the culmination of many years of perseverance n hard yakka, having started both my art biz and the chilli biz with no capital, just continuous re-investing.
I did try to build a small ‘cushion’ last year to help float me through quiet season, but between computer being stolen, car blowing up etc I was back in the red 🙄😂
So I would like to express my immense gratitude to all the local support in buying my products that’s helped me carry on through!
Ain’t always easy finding time to keep up the social media presence/promo amidst keeping shop open consistently, all the admin n everything else involved in maintaining my creations, but I felt this an important milestone to say something about where I’m at 👌🏼💫.
This year I hope to bring things to a place of more prosperity and a bit more free time outside of having become ‘retail girl’ 😆, to create some new art 🤗🎨🙏🏼
I injured my leg quite seriously recently, torn hamstring, but I’ll still be in shop this wknd 10-3pm if anyone feels like popping by to say hi in celebrating this 2 year mark with me!
If not local you can still check out all my art wares at- www.artofion.com.au
Or chilli biz- www.abundancezone.com.au 🙏🏼
How beautiful the sunrays these recent days! ☀️🦋, so lovely out there I hobbled about my garden shed y’day arv n put in the next round of chilli seeds with the sunset 😆🌱🌶
Onwards, upwards n wishing u all a beautiful wknd ahead in each your different doings! 🤟❤️👣🙏🏼💫🧚‍♀️
