This is one of the reasons Bright Hope Books exists. 💛

More than selling books, we want to create spaces where stories of hope are shared, where the Church is encouraged, and where we get to connect with incredible ministries doing God’s work around the world.

I’d love to invite you to join us next Saturday, 15 August, as we welcome my friends Michael & Christine from House of Hope Africa. I’ve had the privilege of knowing them personally, and it’s such a joy to introduce our community to a ministry that is faithfully taking the hope of Jesus to the people God has called them to serve in Zambia.

It would truly bless us if you came along, but I have no doubt you’ll leave even more blessed by hearing what God is doing through this beautiful ministry.

I was sitting and praying with a friend recently when this book suddenly popped into my heart.

I’d read Under Cover by John Bevere years ago, and I remembered just how much it had helped me. I ended up buying them a copy... and then found myself wondering why we didn’t already have it on our shelves at Bright Hope Books!

The topic of authority and leadership can feel like a difficult one, especially if you’ve experienced disappointment or hurt. But John handles it with wisdom, grace, and a deep commitment to Scripture.

One of the themes that has stayed with me over the years is learning “how to avoid being entirely right, yet somehow wrong,” and the biblical way to respond to unfair treatment. It’s a perspective that has challenged and encouraged me more than once.

Whether you’re serving in ministry, leading others, working under leadership, or simply wanting to grow in Christlike character, this is a book well worth reading.

It would also make a fantastic resource for church leadership teams, ministry volunteers, or small groups to read and discuss together.

This month we’re highlighting Nikki Rogers from Created To Be — an incredible Australian author and illustrator whose books have become favourites in our home and store.

Nikki writes and illustrates books that help children understand who God made them to be. Her stories are bright, thoughtful, funny, and a joy to read together.

Some of our favourites are Wilbur the Woolly, a beautiful story about a Good Shepherd who cares for His sheep, and What Love Looks Like, which helps children understand the five love languages in themselves and others.

We love Nikki’s books because they weave big truths about identity, love, faith, and belonging into stories children genuinely enjoy. They’re beautifully illustrated, full of warmth and humour, and the kind of books you’ll happily read again and again.

We currently have a selection of Nikki’s limited edition hardcover books in store. They make beautiful additions to any family library.
