🌿 It’s our Friday Walkthrough 🌿

The stunning Serruria ‘Blushing Bride’ are looking absolutely amazing and are a must-see this weekend!

Kate also features the arrival of beautiful Rhododendrons and Azaleas, along with the ever-popular Evergreen Clematis ‘Apple Blossom’, which will soon be covered in masses of soft apple blossom-pink flowers.

We’re also fully stocked with our Harmony Grown seedlings. We believe great food starts with healthy plants, which is why our seedlings are raised naturally in our climate-controlled nursery, without synthetic chemical treatments. We let nature do what it does best, so you can grow fresh, wholesome produce at home with confidence.

Winter has well and truly arrived, and while the weather outside might be cold, it’s one of our favourite times of year at Harmony.

When Ange and I took over Harmony, we made a commitment to keep improving—not just the customer experience, but the quality of every plant we grow. One of the biggest investments we’ve made has been our fully undercover, climate-controlled nursery.

It means you can take your time, wander the nursery in any weather, and enjoy the experience all year round. Just as importantly, it allows us to grow consistently healthy, high-quality plants with strong root systems and excellent foliage, giving them the best start before they head home to your garden.

Every drop of water used within our undercover nursery is captured, filtered and recycled, because we believe growing exceptional plants should also be sustainable.

Harmony has always been about more than selling plants. It’s about creating a place that inspires people to garden and investing in the things that genuinely make a difference. We hope you’ll notice that difference the next time you visit.

The school holidays are here, and if you’re looking for a fun family project this weekend, we’ve got you covered!

Our fruit trees have now all been unpacked and are ready for sale, with a fantastic selection to choose from. It’s the perfect time to get the kids involved and plant something they’ll enjoy harvesting for years to come.

Kate and Jade take you through some of our favourite winter gardening projects in this reel, including our new season blueberry plants, certified seed potatoes that are so easy to grow in the garden or in potato bags, and our White Button Mushroom kits, which are now in season and love the cooler weather. There’s nothing quite like watching your own mushrooms appear in just a few weeks!

We’re open all weekend from 9.00am to 4.30pm, so come in and let us help you choose a project the whole family can enjoy.

And don’t forget to tune into ABC Hobart tomorrow morning from 9.00am to 10.00am, where I’ll be back on gardening talkback answering your gardening questions. Then I’ll be back at Harmony afterwards, so if you’ve got a curly gardening question, bring it in and we’ll work through it together.

If you’ve walked past the back doors at Harmony lately and wondered where that amazing perfume is coming from, this is it… Osmanthus ‘Pearly Gates’.

Don’t let the tiny white flowers fool you. The fragrance is incredible and will often stop you in your tracks before you even notice where it’s coming from. It has a beautiful sweet scent that carries right through the garden, making it a fantastic choice near a front door, pathway or entertaining area where you can enjoy it every day.

‘Pearly Gates’ is one of those reliable plants that just gets on with the job. It’s evergreen, frost hardy, drought tolerant once established and grows well in full sun or part shade. It isn’t fussy about conditions, provided it has well-drained soil, and only needs the occasional trim after flowering to keep it looking neat.

Growing to around 1.5 metres high and approximately 1 metre wide, it’s ideal for hedging, screening, as a feature shrub or even in a large pot. The glossy green foliage looks fantastic all year, then through winter and into spring it’s covered in masses of beautifully scented white flowers that are also loved by bees and other beneficial pollinators.

If you’ve never grown an Osmanthus before, ‘Pearly Gates’ is a great place to start. It’s one of those plants that quietly performs year after year and never disappoints.

Fruit tree season has officially begun at Harmony.

With our milder winter this year, my nectarine tree is still holding onto its leaves, which is a great reminder of why bare-root fruit trees have arrived a little later than usual. The good news is our first delivery has now arrived and the quality is exceptional. Our final delivery, along with customer orders, is expected next week, giving you one of the biggest and best selections of the season.

Before you buy, compare the quality. Compare the price. Healthy, well-grown trees establish faster, grow stronger and reward you with better harvests for years to come. That’s why so many Tasmanians trust Harmony when it comes to fruit trees.
