My son and I have just returned from the Western Arthurs where the native mice are a big problem at the camp sites. We also left a Pouch at Junction Creek, knowing that we would be returning back there in 6 days with our food and some extra goodies that we left in the pouch to avoid carrying more weight. On our return to Junction Creek, the Pouch was untouched. The mice at the camp sites though were relentless. They would come up as we were cooking our food or scurry past, just letting us know they were there. I left the pouch out near me with a small cracker on the inside of the pack and watched as the "boss" mouse came and tried to get into the Pouch - watched him for around 30 minutes and took some photo's of him. Apart from some or the wires being slightly crimped, (he was having a big crack) which I later smoothed out, there was no damage to the Pouch at all. After that, all the food went into my dry sack and into the Pouch and I left it near my tent. Throughout the night I could here the scampering, but the Pouch was not damaged at all when I inspected it in the morning. Other campers were not so lucky. Possum Pouch = 1 - Mice = 0
