Listen up, speed demons. Before you go forgetting about your gear until the next race season, let’s talk about that little piece of plastic that actually proves you’re FAST: your Mylaps Sports Technology TR2 transponder.

If you want it to actually beep when you cross the finish line, you need to treat it right. Here is the official, totally-scientific-but-mostly-common-sense guide to TR2 maintenance:

🔋 1. Feed the Beast (Once a Month!)

Your transponder doesn’t survive on adrenaline alone. Plug it in and charge it at least once a month. Think of it as a little battery spa day to keep it refreshed and alive. If you let it go completely dead for months, it might just decide to retire early. And nobody wants to be that person renting a transponder.

💳 2. The Dreaded Subscription Check

While you're plugging it in, jump on the Speedhive app and check your subscription status. There is nothing worse than pulling the fastest lap of your life only to realize your subscription expired three days ago and your time didn't register.

👻 3. It's Literally Scared of the Dark

Whatever you do, do not store your transponder in a dark, forgotten drawer. It is deeply, emotionally afraid of the dark. Keep it somewhere it can see the light of day, or at least somewhere you won't forget about it.

🧦 4. The "Lucky Socks" Biohazard Zone

For the love of all things holy, do NOT leave it at the bottom of your race bag next to your "lucky socks." Look, we all know those socks haven’t seen a washing machine since 2006. Your transponder doesn't need to be asphyxiated by your good luck. Wash the socks. Protect the transponder.

“2 green blinks… okay, maybe just a couple more races… and a nap.”

“1 green blink — send help, I’m running on fumes!”

“Red blink 😬 — less than a day left, someone get me a cradle before I pass out!”

“Fast red blinks — Subscription expired?! Guess I’m retired now… where’s my gold watch?” 🪫💀

⚡ In the cradle:

“Red blink — Ahh, spa time. Charging my batteries, literally 🔋💅.”

“Green light — All charged up and ready to roll, coach!”

“Blue light — Connected, probably downloading gossip from Race Control 🖥️.”

“No light — Shhh… I’m sleeping. Dreaming of podium finishes 😴🏆.”

“Fast red blink — Oh great, now I’m a fancy paperweight again. Thanks, expired subscription.” 😩
