Next time you're at the pub or out for dinner, check where the seafood on the menu comes from. You might be surprised.

Thanks to KAP's seafood labelling push, it's now easy to see how much imported seafood is ending up on our plates while our own fishing industry is being squeezed.

Queensland's commercial fishers have copped years of bans and restrictions, with promises decisions would be based on science. There's a chance to turn that around, but we're still waiting.

If we keep making it harder for Australian fishers while importing more seafood from overseas, we'll soon have no local industry left to protect.

If you have the choice, choose Australian seafood. Every meal and every dollar helps keep our fishing communities alive.

Due to all the comments and questions regarding the nets in the posts. NONE ARE FOR SALE !! There jobs for comm. fisherman who have supplied all the gear. I NEVER SELL mesh nets anyway.. I do make and SELL CRAB BAIT BAGS, BLACKFISH KEEPERNETS. HORSE HAY NETS and few other products. DPI moniter social media as well. Looking like im booked out well into september. About 2 weeks left on present job. Then heap of jew /.shark net. Followed by Flathead gear. Month on that one. Then Mullet net job.
