Another week of gaming and hobby at the Nest!

A quick heads-up before we get into it: we’ll be CLOSING AT 6PM this Friday and Saturday, with Build & Paint moving to Saturday afternoon this week.

⚔️ WEDNESDAY | 40K LEAGUE NIGHT

Round 1 of the 40K League continues, and we’re open until 10pm tonight for League Night!

League games can be played throughout the fortnight, but Wednesday nights are a great chance to get your match-up on the table.

🎲 THURSDAY | 40K PRACTICE CLINIC

Looking to sharpen up your game, test a list or just get some more practice in?

Bring your army and get some games on the table. Whether you’re learning the ropes, preparing for an event or working on your game, Practice Clinic is open to all experience levels.

🎨 SATURDAY | BUILD & PAINT

Build & Paint is moving to Saturday afternoon this week!

Bring along whatever’s currently sitting on your hobby desk and join us for an afternoon of building, painting, hobby chat and hopefully making a dent in that pile of shame.

Spring Offensive is coming to The Cro’s Nest this September, bringing you three rounds of competitive Warhammer 40K packed into one day!

Brushes down, the deadline is here!

Today is the FINAL DAY for our Painting Competition entrants to bring their finished minis back to The Cro’s Nest.

If you’ve been working away on your competition entry over the past few weeks, make sure it’s back at the Nest by 10PM TONIGHT!

Community Choice voting opens tomorrow!

From Saturday, all of the finished entries will be on display and it’s over to you to help choose our Community Choice winner.

Round 1 of our Warhammer 40,000 League kicks off TODAY!

We’re also extending our Wednesday trading hours until 10pm from this week to accommodate League Night. So there’s plenty of time to get those games in after work.

The Underhive is open for business! Our new Necromunda campaign officially begins Thursday night. Bring your gang and prepare for violence, questionable decisions and inevitable grudges.

⚠️ LATE OPENING TODAY ⚠️

EDIT: We will be open from 3:30pm - 9pm

The Cro’s Nest won’t be opening at our usual time today.

We’re currently dealing with a minor family emergency of the slightly ridiculous variety: our dog has decided that she has given birth.

She has not.

She has, however, adopted a toy llama and is extremely committed to the role of new mother.

She’s a little stressed and needs some supervision and reassurance this morning, so we’ll be opening a bit later than usual while I stay home with her.

We’ll post an update as soon as we’re ready to open!
Thanks for bearing with us. Apparently “babysitting a dog who is babysitting a llama” is on today’s agenda. 🤦‍♀️

Been meaning to register? This is your reminder — registrations for BOTH of our new Spring Leagues close this Friday!

⚔️ WARHAMMER 40K LEAGUE
12 weeks. 6 rounds. One champion.

Two weeks to complete each round, with flexible scheduling — so you don't need to be available every Wednesday night to take part.

🏈 BLOOD BOWL LEAGUE
Build your team. Survive the season.

Take your team through the Regular Season, develop your roster along the way, and battle for a place in the Top 4 Finals.

📅 Registrations close THIS FRIDAY, 28 August.
🎲 Both leagues kick off Wednesday, 2 September.

New Releases have landed!

It’s a good week for both The Old World and Blood Bowl, with plenty of new arrivals hitting the shelves today.

🏈 BLOOD BOWL

Blood Bowl has a few new arrivals of its own this week, including Spike! Journal Issue 22, the Blood Bowl Sevens Pitch, Rat Ogre, Morg ‘N’ Thorg and Minotaur.

And with our new Blood Bowl League kicking off on September 2, we’ve also stocked up on a few more teams for anyone thinking this might finally be the season to give Blood Bowl a go.

We currently have Norse, Lizardmen, Ogres, Halflings, Khorne and Dark Elves on the shelf, along with the Third Season Edition Official Rulebook.

What's on your hobby desk at the moment? 👀

Crouchie's been busy starting a brand-new army, and he's currently well and truly in the building stage. It's still very grey, but it's definitely starting to look like an army!

So, what are you working on? Building something new, working your way through the painting pile, or still staring at that project that's been "nearly finished" for longer than you'd care to admit? 😂
