I have always admired my mother's ability to tell a story that captures its readers, and pulls them into her world.

Today she got to showcase her work at the Newcastle Book Boyfriend event and it was an incredible day. Thank you to everyone who came by to say and join her on her storytelling journey.

Trial of Fury and Pride by Lacey Carter Andersen

Trial of Fury and Pride is the final book in the series. Alette is pushed harder than ever. The trials are darker, the stakes sharper, and the emotional pressure is relentless. What really stands out in this book, is how much she grows.

She’s still stubborn, still fighting for control of her own fate, but she’s also learning to trust the four fae kings who’ve tied themselves to her.

Sylvian’s quiet steadiness, Ashton’s charm, Oberon’s fire, and Cassius’s cold intensity all hit differently here.
Their devotion is messy, possessive, and increasingly unavoidable.

The reverse harem dynamic finally settles into something real, and the peace and love they find gives this story the conclusion it deserves.

Tropes
• Reverse Harem
• Deadly Trials
• Chosen One
• Four Fae Kings
• Possessive MMCs
• Forced Proximity
• Found Strength

Trigger Warnings
• Violence and injury
• Death threats
• Torture‑adjacent trial scenes
• Power imbalance
• Manipulation by a goddess
• Captivity elements

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Indecent Obsession by C.S. Berry picks up right where Forbidden Obsession left us, and the heat between Sara, Wyatt, Dante, and Drew only intensifies.

The dynamic between them is shifting fast, and the lines between “behind closed doors” and “public friends” are starting to blur in ways none of them can ignore.

The story is starting to uncover more about Sara’s brother Tom, though the real reason behind his disappearance is still just out of reach.

The danger around them is tightening, and every answer seems to come with a new threat.

C.S. Berry knows exactly how to write a reverse harem that is high‑spice, high‑tension, and emotionally messy.

This instalment is no exception, it’s hotter, a little darker, and even more addictive than book one. The chemistry is chaotic in the best way, and the emotional stakes keep climbing.

It ends on a cliffhanger (of course), and I’m already desperate for the next instalment.

Tropes
• Reverse Harem
• Brother’s Best Friends
• Touch Her and Die
• Forced Proximity
• Possessive / Obsessive MMCs
• Hidden Relationship
• Multiple POV

Trigger Warnings
• Kidnapping
• Threats / danger
• Power imbalance
• Obsession / possessive behaviour
• Dubious consent themes (implied in series tone)
• Stalking‑adjacent behaviour
• Violence / physical harm
• Emotional manipulation

Pandoras Claw - Helen Scott

Pandora's Claws raises the stakes in a way that feels both inevitable and completely earned.

Aria’s power is no longer something she can outrun. The Silvering is changing her, pushing her toward something divine and dangerous, and the book captures that pressure with real emotional weight.

What I loved most is how character‑driven this instalment is. The bond with her four Princes shifts from tension to something far more volatile. Their connection is intimate, messy, loyal, and constantly tested. Every reveal, every moment of trust or fear, feels rooted in the history the series has been building.

The world expands again, but without losing focus. Hera’s manipulation brings some of the darkest moments in the series, but it also deepens the relationships in a way that feels honest rather than dramatic.

Aria’s growth is the standout. She sees the worst of what her Princes have survived and refuses to let it break her or them.

It’s intense, mythic, and full of momentum. If you’ve been waiting for the series to hit its turning point, this book delivers. And yes, the ending makes you want the next one immediately.

Tropes
• Found family under pressure
• Fated but dangerous bond
• Power awakening
• Loyalty tested
• Gods meddling
• Descent into darkness
• Trauma revealed

Trigger Warnings
• Violence and supernatural threat
• Body transformation
• Memory manipulation
• Torture themes
• Emotional overwhelm
• Death and cosmic horror elements

Hush Little Angel by Pauline Walters is a fast, chaotic slide into obsession.

Winnie survives an encounter with a masked man who oozes charm, but flashes every red flag.

Richard is a man who should terrify her, yet pulls her in with a kind of dark, deliberate intensity.

The novella leans into its shadows: stalking that feels like possession, blood and brutality that never fully fade, and a heroine who keeps her humour even when the world turns vicious.

Richard is all sharp edges and fixation, protective in ways that cross lines and then redraw them to suit him.

Their chemistry hits hard and fast. It is messy, charged, and threaded with power imbalance.

There’s kidnapping (not by the MMC), dub‑con, push‑pull between danger and desire.

The story moves quickly, driven by tension, heat, and the unsettling comfort of being wanted by someone who doesn’t know how to let go.

Tropes
• Morally grey MMC
• Age gap
• Obsessive love interest
• Stalker romance
• Dark romcom energy
• Forced proximity
• Power imbalance

Trigger Warnings
• Stalking
• Dub‑con themes
• Blood and gore
• Violence
• Kidnapping

Spice Level 🌶 🌶 🌶 🌶
Explicit, obsessive, and power‑skewed.

A Living Fantasy by A.T

A Living Fantasy is a micro‑novella that explores self‑healing, reclaiming autonomy, and rediscovering identity, all through the lens of a futuristic, AI‑driven fantasy experience.

Dreamer is trying to find her way forward after surviving an assault, and in her search for safety and control, she turns to the illegal Living Fantasy program. Run entirely by AI, the experience creates a protected space where she can set the rules, define the boundaries, and explore her desires without fear.

This story moves quickly, but it’s purposeful. It follows Dreamer as she steps into a world she designs herself, one where she can experience pleasure, connection, and agency on her own terms.

This story balances emotional recovery with imaginative escapism, creating a narrative that feels both cathartic and empowering.

Tropes
• AI‑generated fantasy world
• Healing journey
• Reclaiming control
• Safe‑space intimacy
• Self‑discovery

Trigger Warnings
• Mentions of sexual assault
• Trauma recovery themes
• AI‑controlled environments

Spice Level 🌶 🌶 🌶
Moderate — focused on empowerment, consent, and emotional safety rather than explicit detail.

🎧 AUDIO REVIEW

Have you ever read a book and built the characters’ voices so vividly in your head that hearing the real audio almost ruins it?

My Soul For A Donut by Layla Pine did the opposite, it matched every voice I imagined and then elevated them.

A year after reading, Jemma, SJ, Bezel, and Bub still lived rent‑free in my mind.

When Layla Pine released the audio, I was nervous, but Tanya Dougherty and Rob McFadyen’s duet narration floored me.

The voices were exactly as I’d heard them, and I genuinely teared up. It’s rare for an audiobook to deliver exactly what you expect, and this one exceeded it.

This story blends chaos, charm, and heart: a demon with a soul (Jemma) obsession, a human who bargains her soul for gluten free pastry perfection, and a cast that’s equal parts hilarious and heartfelt.

The humour lands, the emotion hits, and the world feels like a sugar‑coated fever dream you never want to leave.

Tropes
Demon x Human,
Deal with the devil
Found family
Chaotic romance
Morally grey love interest

Triggers
Mild violence
Soul‑bargaining themes
Emotional manipulation

Trial of Blood and Royals — Lacey Carter Andersen

Netherworld Fae Trilogy — Book 2

Trial of Blood and Royals takes everything sharp, dangerous, and addictive from book one and tightens it. The stakes rise, the politics get messier, and the emotional tension hits that perfect point where you can feel the pressure building under every choice the Alette makes.

What stands out in this instalment is how Alette is starting to push back and not just do as expected of her, and that balance between strength and vulnerability is what makes her so compelling.

The four fae kings continue to be that morally‑dark, beautifully complicated mix of protectiveness and danger. Their loyalty isn’t simple, their motives aren’t clean, and that’s exactly what keeps the tension alive.

The relationships deepen without losing the edge that makes this series so addictive.

The world expands in all the right ways, and the emotional beats land with more weight than before. It’s the kind of sequel that doesn’t just bridge books, it escalates everything.

Tropes
• Fae royalty and court politics
• Trials with deadly consequences
• Morally grey MMCs
• Found power
• Reluctant trust
• Protective instincts
• Slow-burn tension
• Secrets with teeth

Trigger Warnings
• Violence and injury
• Threats, captivity elements
• Power imbalance
• Emotional manipulation
• Dark fae themes

Their Cruel Play by C.S Berry

Convincing you to add this series to your read right now list.

The Untouched series contains 6 books with Their Dangerous Games being the first book, followed by Their Twisted Ruels.

It is so spicy, it was put into the erotica section on Amazon.

Harper is the last virgin of her year, and she has been targeted by the Horsemen.
They want to claim her, make her theirs for the year, but it is not all heart eyes and sweet moments.

This is one ride you want to stay seated for.
The game changes along the way, it is messy at first, but the intense spicy chemistry will have you melting in your seat.

Book 3 shows more of Harper's strengths and she really comes into her own.

She is not hiding anymore, but now she is also seen more than she would like.

This puts Harper in the sights of others, and now the Horsemen and Harper need to figure out who is trying to hurt her and take them down as the kings of the school.

This is one of those books I would have to say, don't read in public 🥵

Tropes
• Bullies-to-Protectors
• Touch Her and Die vibes
• Reverse Harem
• Forced Proximity
• Last Virgin
• All Her Firsts

Trigger Warnings
• Bullying
• Public Humiliation
• Stalking
• Dubious consent
