What a glorious day! Our Garden + Gossip crew were enjoying the warm spring sunshine today while we smashed through our list of tasks!

Jades team was in the rose garden laying cloth on the beds and raking out paths lovely and flat.

Ella’s team was busy clearing, composting, amending and covering rows in the top field.

Anne’s team was potting up baby zinnias and filling more pots (sooo many pots needed at the moment!)

And my team was weeding and fertilising our top field shade perennials as well starting on some planting and mulching along our big bank!

Greg and Mehdi were also working hard… ramming in all the posts for our new rose fence and transporting our potted peonies down to the Polytunnel!

Incredible effort from all involved - thankyou so much….have a great weekend!

Our lovely volunteers were spread all over the farm yesterday as we tackled a multitude of different tasks on the list!

We planted Iris, dug irrigation, cut in a new centre path in the rose garden, helped with the polytunnel build, pricked out seedlings, washed and lifted the last of the dahlias and prepped new beds!

Cauliflower and smoked cheese soup with Summer Kitchen Bakery pumpkin bed rounded off our fantastic morning together.

Huge thanks to all our generous and hard-working crew ### we are racing towards Spring now!!!

Well we got there! The final last rows of dahlias are now out of the ground thanks to our wonderful volunteers. We also washed a new fresh batch for our team to divide this week and prepped half of the tree field annual beds ready to plant with spring plants very soon! We also had a great crew inside packing seeds and Mum and Lisa did a fantastic job weeding the last path in the tree field and topping up with wood chips! Anne and Isobel were over in the nursery and got the first of our Spring Sale potted plants transported into to the polytunnel - so exciting to finally have plants in there! Thank you so much to our fantastic crew yesterday, it feels so good to get on top of these jobs before the spring busyness really hits us hard!

This week in our Garden + Gossip session Ella and I did a run through of how we dig, trim, wash & divide our Dahlias with our farm volunteers. We showed them the commercial methods we use and also how it can be adapted for the home gardener. Then we all got down to business and lifted a whopping 6 x 10m rows!
Thank-you to everyone who worked so hard (and so carefully) yesterday! We couldn’t do it without you and we hugely appreciate your generosity and time ###
