The look on most shooter’s faces when they realise that there was nothing to worry about by jumping into the water - SO GET INVOLVED TODAY!
Ozzie’s guide to “What Can I Do?”
(1) Send an email to your local member, if you get no response, phone them, if that doesn’t work, attend in person and politely voice your concerns
(2) Donate to the McDonald Law legal challenge (win or lose if you throw in a couple of dollars at least we tried)
(3) Join Shooters Union Australia (Graham Park is a volunteer, so support them in growing as they do a huge amount for us)
(4) Join Pauline Hanson's One Nation Party (or if you really don’t like them, join Katter's Australian Party or Gerard Rennick People First Party or Shooters Fishers and Farmers Party etc)
(5) Take new people to your local Sporting Shooters' Association of Australia - SSAA Inc range and help them get their licence
(6) Sign petitions that support our hobby and sport (it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t change anything this time, you do not give up, it’s literally a minute out of your life)
(7) Comment on every post about guns online and correct the misinformation so people see both sides of the story (this does work, look at the public opinion after the Bondi attack)
(8) Hand out “how to vote” cards for your favourite political party at every State and Federal Election (this is so vital to have representatives at polling booths)
(9) Don’t ignore the antigun mob’s constant lobbying of the Government to take away more of your lawfully owned property (if you do, you’ll soon realise you can’t hide when you receive a letter saying your Category A firearm is now Category C)
(10) Unite, you don’t have to agree on everything but UNITE and VOTE as one. Get your friends and family to all vote the same way (and if you are one of these people that rubbish Pauline and others, you’d prefer what we currently have SERIOUSLY?!)
(11) Apply for more licences eg. Collectors or occupational such as a firearm instructor or feral pest controller
(12) Get to know a local licensed fi****ms instructor and organise a group of friends to do the safety course together
(13) Don’t look for an excuse such as “I wrote a letter and didn’t get anything back, so what’s the point?”. The point is you keep fighting and stop throwing the towel in
(14) Let your local veterinarian know that they can apply for a handgun for vet use and encourage them to apply (in QLD, check other states)
(15) Understand that the antigun mob never call it a day, it doesn’t matter how many restrictions they get across the line, they are never satisfied, they are always calling for more restrictions until they reach their ultimate goal of ZERO FI****MS in licensed shooter’s hands (don’t believe me, just have a look at how much we have lost since 1996)
