This week we had the pleasure of having Savanah from Pioneer State High School join us for work experience.

Savanah got to try her hand with some fun florals and see the behind the scenes preparations for day to day floristry, weddings & funeral flowers.

She was a great help on a busy week with helping to process new fresh flower arrivals, prep arrangement boxes & vases & even assisted with some wiring of greenery for corsages!

Out on deliveries this morning and it got me thinking… as florists we sometimes hear comments like “I don’t know if I’ll get them flowers because they’re only going to die”. And honestly, we understand where your thinking is. But…

Coming from another perspective, we often see when the flowers are received.
The surprise.
The joy.
The tears of happiness.
Sometimes even the happy dances.

So, are these emotions & reactions worth the week or two of gorgeous flowers on their benchtop? The smile every time they walk past them in the kitchen?
