Our quiet achiever, Emmie is only eleven years young.
Art is her world.
Her need to create is innate.
Purely freehand, Emmie began with us a couple of years ago. She started her drawings using grids, then slowly over time and with plenty of practice, started using her eye, to create strong values and her scale/composition is outstanding.

Watching students flourish over time is the most rewarding part of our job.

We are so proud of you Emmie!

I snuck into the show this afternoon for 30 minutes to see the artwork and made a quick exit straight afterwards.

I am SO proud of you all!

I won’t spoil any surprises for the award winners — I’ll let you enjoy those special moments together.

I’ll share results and photos on Thursday afternoon.

If your child doesn’t receive an award this time, please remind them that art is wonderfully subjective, and awards are just one way of recognising creativity. Some incredibly successful artists have never won major art prizes, and a ribbon doesn’t define talent, growth or potential.

Congratulations to everyone whose work was recognised — what a special feeling that must be!

Every student who entered should be incredibly proud of putting their creativity out into the world.

My littlest love, Rumi got high achiever for his painting of our snake, Malibu. He is only 6 years old, and they put him in the Grade 4-6 category, so that’s actually REALLY good 😆

Reminder I am open for normal class this Thursday if anyone is keen to still come along for the usual weekly lesson.
