On Friday, the Get Real crew (Emma, Nathan, Tim & Jordi) got out of the shop and into the RIN May Industry Briefing Luncheon 👏

It was a great session with some seriously valuable insights from Kim Kleidon (Queensland Manufacturing Hubs) and Darren Brownsey (North Queensland Bulk Ports) 👷‍♂️

One of the highlights? The interactive industry sentiment session led by Anthony Gibbs—plenty of strong opinions, great conversations, and a real sense of where our region is heading 💬

We love getting along to these events—not just to stay across what’s happening in our industry, but to connect with other local businesses doing big things in North Queensland.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mums out there 💚

Today’s Sunday shift looked a little different at Get Real… a mother and son duo behind the counter spending Mother’s Day together 🥹

If you know our Bez, you know she’s the true “Mother Hen” of the shop. At 70 years young, she’s still turning up, still helping customers, still keeping everyone in line… and most importantly, still making sure the team never runs out of sugary treats 🍫😂

And yes… she still makes her 48-year-old son lunch every single day 😭🤣 Some things never change.

Whether it’s a lolly stash hidden behind the counter, a friendly chat, or looking after the staff like they’re her own kids — Bez is a huge part of what makes Get Real feel like family.

We are so lucky to have her 💚

Happy Mother’s Day Bez… and to all the hardworking mums, nanas, step mums and mother figures out there today — we hope you feel appreciated, loved and spoiled today 🌸

The 9 points earnt keeps him well clear of Karl from O'Brien Plumbing with Graham from MSC Civil filling 3rd spot on the podium. Dom from Mackay Curtain Making looks to have the wooden spoon in his grasp with over 20 rounds yet to play ?

Today, we remember the courage.
We remember the sacrifice.
We remember the lives given so we could live ours the way we do today.

ANZAC Day is more than a date — it’s a moment to pause, to reflect, and to honour those who stood in the face of unimaginable hardship for something greater than themselves.

To the servicemen and women, past and present — thank you will never feel like enough, but it is said with deep respect and gratitude.

Today, we stand still in remembrance.

Our store is closed today as a mark of respect.

This Saturday, 25th April, we pause to remember.

On ANZAC Day, we honour the courage, sacrifice and spirit of the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country. It’s a time to reflect, to show gratitude, and to remember those who gave everything.

Out of respect, Get Real Workwear & Safety will be closed this Saturday, 25th April.

We will reopen as normal the following day.
