I had a beautiful chat with a friend today about country “Showgirl” competitions — and before country life, I probably saw them differently too.

But I’ve learnt they’re about so much more than a pretty dress. They’re about confidence, community, conversation and having the courage to give something a go.

Addi comes on the road with us, taking every show, rodeo and adventure in her stride and making memories along the way.

She’s much happier in bedazzled jeans and a fishing shirt (I’m still working on embracing the fishing shirt!), so watching her step outside her comfort zone and simply be herself made us incredibly proud.

Just Addi. And that’s more than enough. ❤️

Another weekend, another country show

Our new Rodeo Drifters Hat Co hats were an absolute HIT again and we’re getting pretty excited about what’s coming next!

We might have been a little hard to find — and that gutter out front certainly kept us on our toes — but those who found us were incredible. Catching up with fellow traders and familiar faces is always one of the best parts of life on the road.

And our biggest highlight? Our Addi stepping right outside her comfort zone, getting up in front of a crowd and placing in Junior Showgirl. The placing was just the bonus — having the courage to give it a go made us prouder than anything.

You’ll always be our little star, Ad’s.

Country shows… you really are our kind of people.

Finley, you were something special.

To everyone behind the 108th Finley Show — you should be incredibly proud. From our first point of contact to packing up, we were met with genuine country hospitality, warmth and pride in this beautiful part of the world.

To everyone who stopped by, supported us, shared a story — and told us all the events we need to bring Urban Dust to next — thank you. We’re taking notes!

Being on the road on Father’s Day pulls at the heartstrings, but days like today make it worth it.

Home now. Reset, reload… and onto the next adventure.

Corporate events, with a little more character.

Last night we joined the Sealy Australia team and Snooze Australia at Flying Brick Cider Co. for a beautifully curated Western-inspired event — and they certainly know how to bring their people together.

Mechanical bulls, Chris Beck , Texas-inspired food and an incredible atmosphere.

We brought the Urban Dust experience — custom hats, whisky flasks and hot-iron branding — an interactive activation designed to become part of the event, not just sit alongside it.

A brilliant night with a brilliant team.
Thank you Sealy for having us and Gener8 Events for all their hard work.

NEXT WEEK. IT’S HAPPENING.

We’ve been keeping a few things under our hat… and next week, we finally let them out.

The first-in, best-dressed list is already looking very healthy — healthy enough that this drop could disappear before it even hits the events.

And that’s exactly how we like it.

This year, we’re not just turning up to rodeos and events with great hats.

We’re bringing the hats you’ll be talking about but:
A little more fashion.
A little more attitude.
And a whole lot of class.

We’ve been watching what’s happening in western fashion, putting our own spin on it and creating a collection that feels right at home in the dust — but wouldn’t look out of place anywhere else.

This year, for my 50th birthday, I made my friends dress up as Dolly Parton for a night out in a small country town.

Looking back, I think I chose Dolly because of everything she represents — loyalty, friendship, hard work, a love for life and, most importantly, never being afraid to be exactly who you are.

Dolly, the world has lost a true icon. Someone who never apologised for being authentic, who stayed true to herself and brought so much joy to the world.

One of her quotes that has always resonated with me is:

“Find out who you are and do it on purpose.” — Dolly Parton

And maybe that’s exactly what life is about — surrounding yourself with people who love you for who you are, having a bloody good laugh along the way, and never being afraid to be yourself.

So grateful for my Dolly girls. You know who you are.
