Hope you haven’t been holding your breathe over here waiting for me to post something fun! I’ve been full on with building sheds and paving etc. I’ve also had the dreaded Covid which seriously put me right out of action and is still slowing me down substantially.
Anyhow, how this for special!
Painted with a mineral paint colour by called Country Hall Green. Has been a long standing fav of mine because of its true vintage vibes. Finished with a clear wax and some pretty stencilling on the sides of the drawers. This one is a true beauty and super unique. It features a full length mirror on the left and a half length mirror on the right. The mirror has aged according with one spot photographed for reference. Original draw pulls are Bakelite and in good condition.

Quite a while between pieces lately, have been a bit under the weather with no extra energy. But, I wanted to share with you all this lovely little beside table for one of my nearest and dearest! My brief was mint! I’ve used two great colours from
Ice Queen and my absolute favourite Winter Green to deepen the original colour to give the draws a balayage effect. The swirls and dots are in the lighter colour. It’s finished with the eggshell silk clear coat! I’m sure it will be well loved 💙

I’ve been off going lots of creative bits and pieces
I’ve always loved painting! It’s given me so much! It has such a therapeutic effect on me and allows transformation and renewal. Iced painted houses, I’ve painted furniture and am still doing those things! I wanted to be brave and share with you all that I’ve started experimenting with canvases. Like me though I search high and low for old discarded art with super cool frames! Here is an abstract I just finished with a very cool mid century modern frame which I’m in love with. What do you think?

This lamp base was pretty horrible. The op shop gave it to me for free because it was so grubby. It did look like it was ready for the rubbish bin. I’ve cleaned the whole thing, sanded, painted and waxed in my custom tangerine colour. I new (old) lampshade and here it is sitting pretty in my lounge room.

Do you guys access your local resource recycling centres? You know, the dump! The tip! Almost all the the tips in our area are managed by have a fabulous recycling centre! Basically they save all the rings in the shop from landfill! Could not think of a better place to shop! Although it’s pretty hard to beat a curb side clean up or hard rubbish day!

This standard lamp will stand out in the crowd! It has amazing claw foot feet made of cast iron. With a beautiful barley twist design. Has been re-wired with a lovely cotton covered cord with a vintage style plug. It’s painted in a colour called black cat from paints and rubbed to seal with a black wax. Selling without shade so you can fit your own to make it yours and to suit your home.

I found this chair on Facebook marketplace. It was in dire need of some love. It needed reupholstering but it was structurally very solid and the rattan was in perfect condition. It has a sticker on it saying made in Louisiana USA. Must have been imported to Australia some time in its life. I have loving painted it in a beautiful pink and finished it with a beautiful clear wax rubbing it to a velvety finish. I’ve used a fabric to recover the removable seat and also made a ivory coloured velvet slip cover just for a little variation. All in all a beautiful solid piece of history in a piece of furniture. This piece was for sale but bought before I even listed it. Lucky me!

A few little projects I’ve been working on. It’s been slow as I’m back working on the house a lot while the sun is shining ☀️
How good is that pop of blue! I’m so in love with this colour right now. I’m in the midst of painting a few sets of dining chairs in the same colour! A great accent colour in a quite neutral home.
These are both found pieces. The candle holder at our local tip shop and the lamp base was found by my daughter in an op shop. Shade also enjoying a new life after being saved from the tip shop as well. A little bit of love and these objects can be centre stage again in your home!
