A child doesn’t know how to say “I feel abandoned.”

They don’t have the words for “I think it’s my fault he’s not here.”

Their brain — still developing, still learning to make sense of the world — takes that gap and fills it with behaviour instead.

Anger at small things. Going unusually quiet. Separation anxiety that seems to come from nowhere.
Bedwetting that started again. Clinging to mum like they’re afraid she’ll disappear too.

These aren’t behaviour problems.
These are big, real, legitimate feelings — living inside a small body that has no idea what to do with them.

It doesn’t matter if it’s FIFO, divorce, or any kind of family separation. The emotional experience for a child is the same.
They need someone to see it. To name it. To tell them it’s okay to feel it.
