We're back !!!!! Our Op-Shop is once again open to receive donations and we have now placed one of the collection bins out the front of the shop. We sincerely thank you all for holding off with donations while we worked hard to clear the backlog. Our volunteers are once again a happy lot now that the pressure has been lifted. We took an extra couple of days to have a good clean up as well, and spirits have really lifted. So once again thank you. Fr Joe

For years now the front of our Op-Shop has looked rather messy and this year the weeds came up to the window. So Earl from our 7.00 am service offered to establish a garden and look at it now. The sunflower plants are tremendous. From all of us at the Op-Shop: we wish you a very merry Christmas and great 2026. Fr Joe

Today we celebrated our hard working volunteers with a Christmas break luncheon at the Op-Shop. It was a great opportunity to catch up with everyone over a relaxed lunch: to remember Mike and Fay who passed away recently and to welcome our newest volunteers. Bargain Priced Wedding Dresses: We have just dropped the price of our wedding dresses from $75.00 each to only $50.00 each. What a bargain, but it will be first in first served, as they won't last at this price. Come along and have a look they are beautiful dresses.

Bargain Priced Gold and Silver Jewellery and men's Workwear:
At the Anglican Op-shop 27 Davey Street Mandurah we have just received new stock of gold and silver jewellery which will be put out for sale at the end of this week. All items are marked at 50 % off. We have also received some brand new (still in their plastic wrappers) men's work clothing which has been put out really cheaply. Come along and have a look. Fr Joe.

Our Story

Who we are:

The Anglican Op-shop is staffed by local members of our Mandurah Community. Some are parishioners of the Anglican Church, a few are working for the dole while upgrading their skills, and others are non-church members who simply want to volunteer their time to serve our wonderful Community and those in need. Numbers vary, but we usually have between 35-40 volunteers assisting us. Our customers are a wide cross section of the Community, rich and poor alike; all with one aim - seeking a bargain. It is a place full of laughter, music, good will, fellowship and social contact.

This valuable ministry meets an important need within our Community:

Our stock is donated by the generosity of people wanting to help others, which enables us to keep our prices down. We sell clothing for all ages and styles, glassware, crockery, furniture, jewellery, hardware, linen, bric-a-brac, bedding, toys, books and much more. Of the many op-shops in Mandurah, we are constantly being told by customers that we are known to have the best prices and friendliest staff.

People with special needs:

An important part of our ministry here at the op-shop is to those who are currently facing financial difficulties in their lives. This is why we are committed to keeping our prices as low as possible, which enables them to purchase goods they need, without having to suffer the stigma of asking for a hand out. However, when necessary, those in need can obtain a voucher from the church for free items, such as clothing, bedding and furniture. On Fridays and Saturdays we also distribute free bread from a local bakery.

More than just an Op-Shop:

Some of the items that are generously donated to this Op-shop are on-gifted to other worthy organisations which are also assisting the poor and needy. We have listed some of these groups below.

Overseas Poverty - We support an organisation which ships clothing overseas to people who are living in extreme poverty.

Mission to Seafarers - Many of the seafarers who come into the Port of Bunbury are very poorly paid and so se assist them with work and safety clothing.

Mandurah Women’s Refuge - Bed linen and women’s and children’s clothing that is needed by those who are in a crisis situation.

Wanslea Family Centre - Surplus Children’s toys, books, and puzzles are given to this very worthwhile organisation.

Mandurah Community Kitchen - Surplus crockery, mugs and glasses.

How are our profits used:

Funds that are raised through this Op-Shop go towards supporting the outreach work of our Parish (Christ’s Church Anglican Church) within the Mandurah Community as follows.

Mortgage - Our shop was purpose built as an Op-shop at a cost of just over $300,000. The repayment of the mortgage therefore has first call on the proceeds.

Pastoral Care - From the proceeds of the Op-shop we employ a Pastoral Care worker who supervises our ministry to each of the Aged Care Facilities within the Mandurah Community. This is a very important ministry, which also embraces people who are living alone in their homes and suffer from isolation.

Emergency Relief - Finally we assist many families and individuals who are suffering financial difficulties. We also work in partnership with Anglicare WA in this area.
