During August, the window at The Manilla Folder, 200 Manilla Street, features a beautiful display of upcycled furniture created by the talented Lee Davis.
This display is about much more than furniture. It is a tribute to the legacy of Lyn Wright, whose compassion and generosity touched so many lives through the meals she lovingly prepared and the founding of Neighbours Helping Neighbours (New England Region Inc.).
Lyn's vision of supporting people in need continues to make a difference in our community.
Inspired by that legacy, Lee has generously combined her passion and remarkable talent for transforming pre-loved furniture into unique, beautifully restored pieces. Every item reflects her creativity and eye for design, while every sale helps continue the work that Lyn began.
All proceeds from the sale of the furniture go directly to Neighbours Helping Neighbours (Lyn's Legacy), ensuring Lyn's spirit of caring and community lives on.
If you're in town, call into The Manilla Folder, enjoy a refreshment from Warm Discussions Café, and take some time to admire the display. You may even find the perfect piece to take home, knowing your purchase is helping carry forward a legacy of kindness, generosity, and community support.

It's a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Lyn's enduring legacy while supporting Lee's inspiring craftsmanship and commitment to a cause that means so much to our community.

If you happened to drive past The Manilla Folder, 200 Manilla Street, Manilla, recently and thought there was a man lying motionless on the footpath... don't panic—you weren't the only one to do a double take!
Our male mannequin had been placed outside awaiting collection after being sold, and let's just say he attracted far more attention than we ever expected. People slowed down, stared, laughed, and a few looked as though they were deciding whether to call for help!
Then along came six gentlemen from the Bowral area, lured into Manilla by the irresistible aroma of fresh coffee from Warm Discussions Café. While waiting for their coffees, they wandered through The Manilla Folder, found a few treasures to purchase, and couldn't resist having a good laugh about our "man down" on the footpath.
It's not every day a mannequin becomes one of Manilla's biggest attractions!
At The Manilla Folder you'll discover an extensive range of antiques, curiosities, collectables and the wonderfully unexpected. You never know what you'll find... or what might be waiting for you outside!
Hopefully our mannequin's new owner appreciates just how famous he became before heading off to his new home!

🎨 July at The Manilla Folder – Art, Bargains & a Good Excuse to Catch Up! 🎨
📍 200 Manilla Street, Manilla
There is always something happening at The Manilla Folder, and July is no exception!
Our front window is proudly showcasing a wonderful collection of portraits by local artist Frank Loveridge.
Frank has always loved to paint. Without any formal training, he has developed an incredible talent simply by following his passion. As a member of the Newcastle Society of Artists, Maitland Art Society and the Royal Art Society of NSW, his work speaks for itself.
This month's display features striking oil portraits of people Frank knows, each capturing not just a face, but a personality. His talents also extend to beautiful landscapes.
👀 The big question is... how many local faces can you recognise? You might spot a neighbour, a friend... or perhaps someone who still owes you a cup of coffee!
If you've ever dreamed of having a portrait of yourself, a loved one or a special family memory, Frank would love to hear from you.

Kelly at Warm Discussions, 200 Manilla Street, Manilla, is absolutely torturing me – in the nicest possible way! The aromas drifting from the kitchen are simply irresistible. Whatever magic is happening in there smells divine, and I can hardly wait to sink my teeth into one of those hot, freshly baked scones. If they taste half as good as they smell, we're all in for a real treat! 🫖🧈🍓
