WHAT HAPPENED AT THE MAREEBA HERITAGE CENTRE IN JANUARY?
• We said Goodbye to Remy our 2IC of the Savannah café. We wish her well in her new position as an apprentice mechanic.
• We welcomed back Ari from her month holiday in the Philippines and our new team member Jacinta
• Sandrine and the board members put their heads together to come up with event ideas for this year.
The first Idea we have put into action ………Friday Night at the Museum and event to be held on the 3rd week of the month that tastes your tastebuds around the world. You get to enjoy flavours from a different country every month. Our first destination on the 20th February is France. We start off with a cheese and wine tasting followed up with a 2 course French Cuisine. Since writing this newsletter all the tickets have sold, but stayed tuned for the next destination for Flavours from around the world in March. Keep watching this space and be sure to book straight away to avoid missing out.
Do you have visitors coming to stay and can’t think of anywhere to take them that you haven’t seen 100 TIMES BEFORE? Come in and chat to one of our acknowledgeable volunteers who can give you some new ideas and point you in the right direction. Whether it be walking tracks, swimming holes or another adventure.
Now an update from the shop. Tracy has been busy restocking and remerchandising after the Christmas trade and it’s looking good with a big variety of different and beautiful items. From Fashion Jewellery to bags and hats, funny and quoted signs, clocks and home décor. We also have a distinct men’s range, so if you are looking to buy a Valentines gift, a birthday or thank you gift, maybe you deserve a gift for just being your awesome self, come and have a look at what we have, we think you will be nicely surprised.
Just before we sign off a quick reminder that our beautiful decking out the back is the perfect place to hold a special occasion… a milestone birthday, wedding, engagement or even as a place to hold a corporate event with peaceful surroundings.
