Nobody tells you that transferring donations feels oddly anticlimactic when you're the one doing it. You press a button. A number moves. That's it.
But then you sit in a room at an annual general meeting and someone from the group who received that donation explains what they do with context around it, and suddenly it's not a button you pressed. It's something real that happened because people cared.
How much good stuff happens completely out of sight. How many people do things that never get a post made about them, never get applause, never trend anywhere. They just do it and move on to the next thing.
