Sundays at The Light

This Sunday we’ll be closing a little earlier at 3pm, as we’re heading just up the road to guest lead worship at the Salvation Army’s Encounter Night.

Come spend the afternoon with us from 12:30–3pm for Community Fellowship and a little Coffee & Cake, then join us again at 6pm as we gather in worship and lift the name of Jesus over Maryborough.

We love moments like this, when community moves beyond our own walls and we have the opportunity to gather together as one body, centred on Jesus.

Not divided by denominations or buildings, but one community, one body, one heart and one focus: Jesus.

After some prayerful thought, we’ve made the decision that The Light will now be closed on Mondays.

Running a small business means occasionally taking a moment to look at what’s working, what’s sustainable, and what best supports not only the business, but the people who pour so much into it.

For this season, having Mondays closed gives us some much-needed space behind the scenes and helps us make sure we can continue showing up well for you throughout the rest of the week.

It’s not always easy to make changes, but we believe this is the right one for The Light at the moment.

So from this coming week, our doors will be closed each Monday, and we’ll be ready to welcome you back from Tuesday.

Thank you for continuing to support this little place and the people behind it. We’re so grateful to have you as part of our community. ❤

Sometimes hope isn't loud.

Sometimes hope is simply choosing to believe that this chapter isn't the end of the story.

Maybe today you're carrying disappointment, grief, uncertainty, or prayers that seem to have gone unanswered. If that's you, can I encourage you not to let your present circumstances define God's faithfulness?

David wrote these words while surrounded by trouble, yet he chose to declare, "I remain confident of this..." His confidence wasn't in what he could see, it was in who God is.

Whatever you're walking through today, hold onto this promise.

You will see God's goodness.

It may not happen in your timing. It may not look exactly how you imagined. But our God is faithful, and He is still writing your story.

So don't lose heart.

Keep believing.
Keep praying.
Keep trusting.

The goodness of the Lord is still ahead of you.

Loving' on Local ❤

This week we're showing some love to Miss Chief Nails 💅

Some businesses simply offer a service... but others make you feel like you've found your people.

Miss Chief Nails is a beautiful mother and daughter duo who have created so much more than a nail salon, they've created a space where everyone is welcomed, valued and genuinely cared for. The moment you walk through the door, it feels less like an appointment and more like catching up with friends.

No matter if you're in for a simple set, intricate nail art or a full pamper session, they go above and beyond to make every client feel like a superstar. Their attention to detail, genuine care and the time they take with each person is something really special.

Businesses like this are part of what makes our community so wonderful, women supporting women, building relationships and creating spaces where people leave feeling more confident than when they arrived.

There are seasons when it feels like you have to hold everything together. You replay conversations, carry burdens that aren't yours, and try to solve problems that seem impossible.

But this verse is a gentle reminder that not every battle is yours to fight.

Sometimes the greatest act of faith isn't striving harder, it's surrendering more deeply.

If you're carrying something heavy today, take a moment to breathe and place it back into God's hands. He sees what you can't. He's working in ways you don't yet understand. And while you may not know how the story will unfold, you can trust the One who already does.

Be encouraged today. God goes before you, stands beside you, and fights for you. Your responsibility isn't to carry the weight of the battle, it's to remain close to the One who has already won the victory.

Rest in Him. Trust Him. He is faithful.
