Should you grade that card? 🤔

Laine breaks down the four things PSA is actually looking at before you spend a cent:

◾ Centering
◾ Corners
◾ Edges
◾ Surface - scratches, dents, fingerprints

Grab a light and a jeweller's loupe and go over both sides. That tiny bit of rounding you can't see with the naked eye is the difference between a 9 and a 10.

Two reasons to grade: condition, or rarity. If it's a genuine chase card — think late-90s Precious Metal Gems — authentication alone can be worth it regardless of the grade.

And on card cleaning: microfibre to lift dust and fingerprints is fine. The moment you're adding something to hide a scratch, you've crossed into alteration territory.
