Our Batik Poncho is a work of art that showcases the fine hand-loom and batik crafts of India. The 100% cotton fabric is first hand-woven by weavers on pit looms in their homes. Then the hand-loomed fabric is painted with wax in a beautiful lotus design. After the wax dries, the fabric is dyed and then dried again in the sun. The intricate pattern is revealed when the wax is removed from the fabric with washing, and the material is then stitched into a comfortable, free-size garment that can be worn as a top, poncho, or beach cover up.
