About Me

Being a Support Worker is the BEST job I have ever had. No Day is ever the same, and the Sector has grown and evolved in the past 15 years. I started my Disability Career at nineteen and have been in this sector for more than 15 years. Across multiple roles, from my favourite Support Worker across Groups and Individual Supports in the home and community, I have been in management positio

ns across the board. Support Worker Store was born from wanting to help out a fellow support worker and inform our Disability Workforce of the resources available to them.

I sat down with Cody from Disability Events Community and Aged Care Events Community…
And honestly… this is the kind of stuff that makes the sector better.

From small beginnings in Perth
To events across Australia
To helping participants actually find supports

This is community done right.

Because sometimes…
The best supports aren’t found online
They’re found face to face

✨ Participants finding services
✨ Support workers building networks
✨ Providers connecting with their community
✨ Real conversations that actually matter

This is why I love podcasting.
These are the stories that deserve to be heard.

Some people choose the heels 👠
Some people choose the Birks 👡

But people with disability?
They should get **real choice**.

Not “here’s who we picked for you.”
Not “just make it work.”
Not “this is your only option.”

Real choice means being able to choose support that feels right for **your life**.

✨ Who supports you
✨ How support happens
✨ Where you feel safe
✨ What works for your goals
✨ What feels like the right fit

Because support should never feel like squeezing into a shoe that hurts just because someone else said it looks good.

People with disability deserve support that fits them.

Their life.
Their voice.
Their choice.

Choice isn’t being difficult.
Choice is the whole point.

POV: The future of home care is sitting on your kitchen bench 👀

Just recorded a podcast with Lisa from Harmonie Health Hub… and wow.

This wasn’t built in a boardroom.
It was built after her dad became seriously unwell,
and her family was trying to manage care across states.

And honestly? It shows.

Because the real problem isn’t people…
it’s the chaos around care.

📞 Chasing updates
📄 Scattered notes
😮‍💨 Families guessing what’s going on

So she built one hub that connects it all.

No hovering.
No confusion.
Just real visibility.

And the best part?

👉 It gives independence BACK.

This is where care is heading.
Smarter. Simpler. Human.

Curious… is this what the sector needs? 👇

Resilience isn’t just bouncing back. It’s building a way forward.

After 17 years in the support sector, I’ve learned this first-hand. Resilience isn’t in the big, dramatic moments — it’s in the everyday.

💡 It’s in the support workers who keep showing up after a tough shift.
💡 It’s in the leaders who hold steady when the system feels like it’s unravelling.
💡 It’s in participants who refuse to let their goals slip, even when the odds are stacked against them.

And truthfully? It’s in me too.
I’ve rebuilt services, stood in messy rosters at 11pm, navigated reforms that shifted the ground under my feet, and still found a way to keep moving.

That’s what resilience really looks like — not being unshaken, but knowing how to bend without breaking. And when you do it long enough, you become the blueprint. Others look to you — not because you had it easy, but because you kept going anyway.

👉 If you’re leading, supporting, or caring in this space — chances are, you’re already someone’s blueprint for resilience. Even if you don’t see it yet.

💬 For me, my blueprint was the women in this sector who showed me how to stay grounded while building something bigger than themselves. Who has been your blueprint for resilience?

What’s really happening with the NDIS right now… and what does it actually mean for support workers, providers, and participants?

In this episode, I join Jackie for a real, unfiltered conversation about the latest NDIS changes, funding cuts, and the growing uncertainty across the sector.

We break down:
• What the recent NDIS announcements actually mean (without the fear-mongering)
• The truth about funding cuts and social & community supports
• Why support workers are leaving the sector — and what’s replacing them
• Independent vs provider models — what’s really changing
• The future of registration, audits, and compliance
• How the NDIS has shifted from community-first to system-heavy
• What “good care” should actually look like moving forward

We also talk about the real heart of the sector — the people. The wins, the challenges, and why community connection still matters more than ever.

If you’re a support worker, provider, participant, or just trying to make sense of where the NDIS is heading… this is the conversation you need to hear.

This clip is from my conversation with Em Hoskin from Your Best Support, where we talk about support work, support coordination, participant outcomes, and the real stories behind the NDIS.
