Finished the second baby’s stocking Christmas Day 😳

Used the same wool and same needles (I think) but somehow got a completely different size… might have to try to shrink the red one.

Both Holiday Doodle Stocking + charts from Holiday Doodle Scarf and Holiday 3 Doodles.

One finished Christmas Stocking! While some personalised embroidery, the lining and the i-cord tie are still to be completed, it was good enough for Santa to leave a couple of prezzies in.

Loved this pattern and the charts. Highly recommend. Which is lucky coz I have at least one more to make for the baby of the family.

WE ARE CLOSING

I’ve decided that just shy of a year in business, the Order of Knots will close this month.

While I feel sad about this, it’s mainly because I know I didn’t give this store the dedication it deserved. I still believe it has potential, but my heart isn’t in it.

There have been two big lessons which has helped me reach this decision.

1. I hate the pressure of being on social media all the time. I hate picking up my phone when my kids are around. I hate searching for follows and likes.

2. Once this business launched, it no longer felt like creating to me. If I’m going to spend my time on something (when I work and have two little kids), I want to love it and get energy from it. I am yearning to create rather than market. Selling other people’s (beautiful and unique) designs hasn’t been the way to my heart the way I thought it would have been.

So, if there’s something you’ve had your eye on, grab it now. Or don’t. I’ll be posting about the incredible designers who have trusted me through this process ove the next few weeks. Follow them!!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the likes, comments and purchases.

What inspires our designers?

Nature and our context within it is an inspiration to a number of our designers. The Kato Cowl was designed with the flowing of water in mind. With two distinct motifs representing an overlapping, gentle current.

With two sizes to suit your neck warming needs.

What inspires our designers?

In this case, a word. Mauri Tau means calm, serene in Te Reo Mãori. Françoise’ beautiful motif is meditative to look at and to make.

A delight to knit and a uniquely stunning inclusion to your winter woolies.
