Did you know adding boiling water directly onto some herbal teas can reduce their quality?
Adding a small amount of cold water first helps protect delicate compounds, including volatile oils and heat-sensitive plant constituents. Pouring very hot water straight onto the tea bag can cause some of these beneficial compounds to dissipate more quickly and may also draw out excess tannins, creating a more bitter taste.
A gentler start = better flavour, aroma and a more balanced cup. 🍵✨
