Mixing hardware finishes and blending tones is a way to make your space feel unique.

Hepburn Hardware has released these lovely new backplates in Acid Wash Brass, Antique Bronze and perennial favourite Satin Nickel. You can see them in different eye-catching combinations here, and on display in our showroom.

These lightly curved new 'Clover' levers are hot off the forge, available in the same three finishes. Balancing aesthetics with ergonomics, these levers feel great to hold, and are crafted to patina and age graceful over time for a unique, lived-in look.

Most people don’t realise that our lighting can be customised.

The majority of our range can be customised - from suspension lengths and styles down to the specific fixture components and brass finish.

There’s a certain character in 60s and 70s lighting that you just can’t replicate with modern mass production. The pieces featured here are just a taste of our range of unique and custom lighting. We’re also preparing to open up our archives online soon, sharing some of the unique pieces from our back catalogue.

Thank you new followers! We appreciate you all and we value your support. It's a pleasure to connect with you. Although our store in Ascot Vale has been around for 39 years, we're relatively new to the Facebook community. Thanks for helping us to get started up here.

I’ve been having fun lately looking through the back catalogue and at old photos etc. here at Memory Lane. For the first 20 years or so, Pam and Steve specialised in antique furniture and objects. They would completely change the store over on a Friday ready for the weekend, and people would queue up on a Saturday to shop the new goodies.

Here’s a charming photo of the inviting shop window from that time. Things have changed a lot since then! But we’re proud to still be in the game after 39 years.

A handful of recent client projects 🛠🏠 and we're proud to see our custom lighting up in such beautiful spaces.

You can see how much a fitting changes depending on the room it's made for. We took the time to work with these clients - all with different needs, different eras and different spaces - to customise lighting to make their space beautiful.

📸2-3: This single pendant is simple yet elegant, placed on this beautiful ornate ceiling rose. This opal matt sphere suspended on a satin brass rod brings a warm and understated charm.

📸 4-5: Three and five-light ornate pendants at Janet Clarke Hall, University of Melbourne - a beautiful heritage space that deserved fittings to match.

📸 6-7: The same five-light branch fitting, but with different shades and a different finish -all customised to suit living spaces in some clients' homes. A branch fitting can feel entirely unique when the style, finish and shades are customised for a space.

📸8-9: A Federation home in Coburg, beautifully restored, now anchored by three seven-light pendants across two living spaces that finally feel complete.

As with most of our lighting, our lamps are fully customisable, with different base options and designs, a large range of glass and fabric shades including unique contemporary and antique Australian pieces.

With lighting you won’t find at big retailers, our Australian-made solid brass lamp stems and range of antique and period-style shades are unique, and radiate old-world charm.
