Meet my very first Alabama Quilt Block quilt!

I’ve wanted to make one of these for so long. Simple blocks, lots of repetition, and the kind of patchwork that feels timeless and cosy in the best way.

I used a mix of sweet vintage inspired prints, soft florals, checks, and those perfect little “grandma’s cupboard” fabrics that somehow all play nicely together. The palette is warm, gentle, and a little bit faded-in-the-sun. Something different for me but I love it.

Kits will be ready and available this Saturday!
Perfect if you want to make your own version without the fabric decision fatigue 😅

I finished this quilt top a while ago but given it has achieved the honour of being my favourite quilt I’ve ever made, ever, I slowed down to take my time on figuring out how I wanted to quilt it. I finally decided today on a grid, but the teeny tiny 1cm one. It’s time consuming but will be oh so worth it.

The wait is almost over! 🤣 I first showed you the by Helene of way back in October, and now the kits will finally be hitting the shop next Saturday!

This week, I'll be hard at work cutting and prepping the kits and I'll also be sharing a little blog post about my hand quilted stars. This quilt was a dream to work with. It was one of those projects where everything just clicked and the quilt told me how it wanted to be quilted.

This one is a keeper for me, much loved in our house already (even though it’s still waiting for binding) but will be snatched away this week for a couple of Kodak moments of course. 📸

When I saw the lovely Helene from sewing her new pattern I knew I had to have a go. And this is my version. The Lucky Loom woven pattern reminded me so much of the quilt pattern itself and it’s a crazy quick make.

So many wonderful orders came in while I was on a family road trip and I am so grateful for every single one of them.

My break was filled with a whole lot of nothing. I finished five books, one jigsaw, did colouring with my daughter, shopped, ate and slept. It was perfect.

I did however also do some planing for the months ahead and I look forward to getting stuck in once I have cleared the backlog of orders.
