Every community has people who quietly become part of its story. For 22 years, Barb has been one of those people.
Whether you were borrowing a book, bringing the kids to story time, printing an important document, or simply looking for a quiet place to spend an hour, chances are you’ve been greeted by Barb somewhere along the way. Over more than two decades as Library Manager, she’s become a familiar face to thousands of Watsonia locals, always ready with a warm welcome, a recommendation or a helping hand.
This Thursday, 13 August, Barb will close the chapter on an incredible 22 years at Watsonia Library. Twenty-two years is a long time in any role, but even longer in a community. It’s enough time to watch children grow into adults, then return years later with children of their own. It’s enough time to leave an impression that stays with people long after they’ve walked back out the front doors.
If Barb has ever helped you, shared a recommendation, welcomed your family, or simply brightened your day, we’d love you to help the Watsonia Library team send her off in true Watsonia style.
