We’ve been at Trades Hall for 30 years, so to celebrate, we’re having a festival! Join us there for Better Red than Dead as we celebrate 30 years of Melbourne’s left.

Across Friday 13 and Saturday 14 November we’ll hear from local writers, artists and activists. Together we’ll look back, look forward and discuss how political advocacy can progress into the future.

The Big Red Book Fair is back for 2026!!

Saturday the 18th of July, 10am to 5pm - Trades Hall, 54 Victoria Street Carlton.

We’ll have thousands of secondhand books for super low prices, 10% off new books, plus many other cool things (posters, pamphlets, badges).

This is a great moment to support Melbourne’s longest running left bookshop. Can't wait to see you there!
