Was generously gifted a whole bunch of spare dress-timber lengths from my friendly neighbour and had the idea to create a decorative and portable wooden panel as a backdrop for taking amplifier photos. As usual had some assistance from the cadets.

These holidays have been refreshing doing a few creative construction jobs during the down time from repair work - kids been getting around it!

Last night I had the amazing privilege to meet one of my absolute favourite musical inspirations, Mr from - and I took the opportunity to take my 'Andy Summers' Signature Telecaster Replica.

I was quite nervous but he was incredibly kind and surprisingly calm given his reputable spontaneous nature. I told him how in 2024 I saw Andy Summers himself play at the Melbourne Recital Center and suspiciously loitered the backdoor for 6 hours hoping I might meet him - unfortunately it wasn't to be.

As Andy's now 82 - it's likely to be his last visit to Australia - so who better to see it than another original member - and with that he happily signed it. As a kid I had always dreamed of meeting Stewart one day so this experience was such a full circle moment for me - so very grateful!

I also took my original 1998 Disc of the PlayStation game 'Spyro The Dragon' which Stewart composed the soundtrack - which was my first exposure to his work. He was genuinely appreciative of the reference as it's a fairly niche album from his back catalogue compared to The Police Albums and his extensive orchestral scores.

Really enjoyed building the replica - it had quite an unorthodox wiring harness. But so content with how it turned out! And a surreal moment to cherish! πŸ™ 🟨πŸŸ₯⬛

After zealously posting about buying it back in 2020, we made the inevitable decision to sell the Weztech Transit Custom Van - my own silver Razor Crest! ✌️
It was a game changer during COVID as a courier vehicle picking up jobs and delivering them upon completion without making contact. Man it was comfy to drive.
It was so handy for us moving house and the workshop from Box Hill to Mitcham - as you'd imagine I helped many others move house too. The kids loved driving in it!
Did a lot of construction and gardening work in it, transported furniture and PA Gear for bands and went camping in it too. Such a reliable vehicle. Gonna miss it!

Over the past two years I've been considering buying large bulk quantities of tubes to accommodate the increase in amp services we've been doing. Needing a future place to store them, I had some unused space above the Tool Cabinet - drew up a quick diagram and knocked a shelf together with some spare Formply I had lying around. Pretty happy with how it turned out - and with a little assistant strapped to my back! πŸ€£πŸ› οΈπŸ’‘

From 2008 to 2019, I was involved with The Boys' Brigade Victoria - enlisting with 21st VIC Mitcham Company. During my tenure I achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and was awarded The Queens Badge at Government House presented by then Governor Alex Chernov in 2013.
Last year to commemorate 21st VIC Mitcham Company's 60th Anniversary I decided to create a lightbox and frame all my brigade badges and memorabilia that were sitting forgotten in a shoebox - which was displayed at the Presentation Night later in the year.
The formal military attire and the strong focus on self presentation always inspired me. I think it teaches one to envision high aims and work hard to achieve them - and when you succeed - display it with honour and use it as momentum to drive you forward.
So grateful for the privilege and the deep investments in both leadership and friendship made during those years! πŸ™πŸŽ–οΈ

Years ago I was gifted an old 1949 HMV (His Master's Voice) Radiogram. The electronics were beyond repair so I gutted the internals and decided to convert it into a retro-looking vinyl record player unit.
Where the speaker cloth sat, I widened the height of the opening - making a wooden floor covered with felt to fit and house a record collection and installed a small draw for storage.
A few years later browsing markplace, I found another identical HMV Unit in Bendigo and (due to running out of space) had a heinous idea to buy and merge two of them into one unit.
I figured I could cut the opposite edges off each respective unit and join them in the middle - maintaining the original art-deco design. I reinforced the cut panels and installed a new floor with crimson felt.
Really happy with how it turned out and looks great in the lounge! πŸ™πŸ’Ώ

A month ago we had the pleasure to complete some jobs for Peter Jones, founding member and original guitarist for the aussie punk band the Comic Psychos.
Peter brought in a Marshall 9100 Monobloc Amplifier Head that had a dead output transformer and needed a full recap and his 1978 USA Fender Telecaster Deluxe which he played on all their records.
His tele has never been cleaned and he requested it stay that way so we obliged - boy it's been through many battles. He shared a few stories and was kind enough to sign a few records for Nick who's a huge fan! What a legend πŸ”₯🎸🀘
