There is something about The Block in winter that draws people in.

Perhaps it is the warmth. Perhaps it is the history held in every arch, tile and shopfront. Or perhaps it is the quieter pleasures waiting inside, the windows, the atmosphere, the little temptations that make you slow your step.

For generations, people have come through The Block not only to pass through, but to be gently called in.

For two more days, whisky is at The Block.

Corowa Distilling Co. 's Melbourne Whisky Experience is now underway, bringing tastings, whisky flights, special releases and a little winter warmth to the Arcade through to 15 August.

Set within the character and charm of The Block, it is a fitting stop for those looking to discover something a little different in the city this week.

It is not often you catch The Block Arcade this still ~ a rare moment to take in the building itself.

The arches, the tiled floor, the light from the dome, the shopfronts, the details that are easy to miss when the Arcade is full of people doing what they have done here for generations.
