Not all of today’s work, sadly, but I managed a few blocks.

I really need to find more time to sew. I’m tired after work and find myself daydreaming more often than stitching so my productivity has become limited on workdays. Days off are filled with life maintenance 😏 … how am I going to fix this?

Tuesday quilts I’d like to make - Pine Cone

Another from flying geese this week. I’m not sure if it’s the design or the colour palate or both that’s drawing me to this quilt. I love the modern look that this vintage quilt has. Definitely a more complex design … so maybe one of retirement 😉

Not a lot of time for selfish sewing today but I’ve finally got my feet up now and I’m finishing off the binding on my Harriet quilt.

I rely on my hand sewing in the evening to centre my thoughts. It gives me time to relax and wind down from a full day and get ready for sleep.

I’m so grateful for my love of sewing and fabric.

This weeks quilt I’d like to make comes from flying geese it’s a part of her latest collection of quilts.

I’ve made many different variations of Irish Chain over the years but this one stopped my scroll! I love the makers clever use of background fabrics that creates fabulous secondary designs. The random use of lighter prints adds further interest to this wonderful quilt. This one will definitely have me coming back when I’m next looking for a more masculine design to make.

The quilt top is circa 1890 to 1900 but the quilt was sandwiched and quilted by hand recently according to Jennifer.

If you aren’t already following flying geese then make sure you do! I love her taste in quilts!
