Absolutely loving this trend of getting a AI photo with your “new business partner” Anthony Albanese 😂

But honestly, behind the joke is a real conversation Australia needs to have about small business.

People see the flowers, events & Instagram posts. They don’t see the long hours, the stress, the cash flow panic, missing family events, reinvesting every dollar back into the business & business owners not even paying themselves and or not paying themselves super.

Australia has 2.7 million businesses and 97% are small businesses. We employ millions of Australians, yet somehow it feels like the harder you work, the more you get punished.

Rising wages.
Rising rent.
Rising power bills.
Rising insurance.
More compliance.
More taxes.

And after years of sacrificing everything to build something, now even selling your business one day means the government wants a bigger slice of that too.

Australia’s wealth is becoming dangerously tied to housing and a handful of industries while the actual guts of the economy — small business, innovation & entrepreneurship — keep getting squeezed.

Most small business owners aren’t asking for handouts. We just want people making decisions to actually understand what it takes to employ Australians & grow a business in this country.

Who else is exhausted from working their guts out and wondering… to what end?
