The Hill of Content was proud to be the bookseller at the A.C. Grayling event hosted by the Wheeler Centre at the magnificent Capitol Theatre on Tuesday evening.

More than 500 enthusiastic attendees were enthralled with the beloved philosopher’s discussion with Sally Warhaft.

He spoke about the forces that are undermining democracy worldwide and offered solutions to safeguard ourselves against the rise of authoritarianism.

In his bestseller Waiter in Paris, Edward Chisholm tells us about life as a Parisian waiter: scraping by on coffee and ci******es, working with thieves, dealers and narcissists.

In his second book ‘Murder in Paris ‘68: A True Story of Death and Glamour’, we enter the underbelly of 1960s Paris. The descriptions are fabulous - sports cars, clubs, actresses, gangsters and politicians. And of course, French film. The book centres around two bon vivants: actor/producer Alain Delon, and his friend and bodyguard, Stevan Markovic. The latter was found in a dump outside of Paris in ‘68. The brutal murder sparked one of the cities greatest mysteries to date, and is the subject of this thrilling book.

Chisholm has ventured deep into this mystery and the result is a dazzlingly, highly entertaining true crime story.
