🇪🇸: Willie Colón y Héctor Lavoe son leyendas indiscutibles, verdaderos genios de la Salsa.
Este género ha sido parte de mi herencia familiar; presente en mi vida desde que tengo memoria. Siendo mi padre quien me introdujo a su colección de vinilos.
Como persona muy visual, me cautivaron de inmediato las icónicas portadas de esos discos, especialmente la del álbum Crime Pays de Willie Colón (1972). Diseñada por el talentoso Izzy Sanabria, esta portada refleja la influencia del estilo gangster que marcó gran parte de las carátulas de Willie Colón en esa época.
Fue precisamente este álbum y su concepto lo que inspiró la creación de esta obra, en homenaje a los artistas que han marcado no solo mi vida, sino la historia de la música latina.
Además, incluí en la obra 20 de mis temas favoritos de Willie Colón y Héctor Lavoe como banda. Para compartir esa experiencia, creé una playlist en Spotify llamada “Crime Pays by Fulaleo” para que se la vacilen.

🇬🇧: Willie Colón and Héctor Lavoe are undeniable legends, true geniuses of Salsa.
This genre has been a part of my family heritage, present in my life for as long as I can remember, with my father being the one who introduced me to his vinyl collection.
As a very visual person, I was immediately captivated by the iconic covers of those records, especially the *Crime Pays* album by Willie Colón (1972). Designed by the talented Izzy Sanabria, this cover reflects the influence of the gangster style that defined much of Willie Colón’s artwork during that era.
It was precisely this album and its concept that inspired the creation of this piece, as a tribute to the artists who have not only shaped my life but also the history of Latin music.
