Happy New Year everyone! We hope January has been treating you well so far.
Some much needed time off for us, with a focus on slowing down and enjoying each day. Lots of time spent hand-making these tactile, fabric cards. It’s a process making these but well worth it!
All made using the off cuts from our sewn goods too.
Here’s to 2026 allowing more time for all of us to take a breath

Christmas wrapping with a twist … no waste, no plastic. 💚

At we love to upcycle and use off-cuts wherever we can.
All of our swing tags are hand-cut from pre-loved Christmas cards, and you can pick them up in packs of 10 from , and .

Every one is unique, and they make for a fun and colourful batch of pressies. And yes, all the wrapping in this video uses off-cuts from previous years too.

A short note on handmade.

We’re living in interesting times. Retailers like Temu, Amazon, and Kmart are driving prices for homewares, fashion, and even food to record lows, even creating items that ‘appear’ handmade and are available for next to nothing. By shopping at the Makers + Shakers Market, you’ve chosen individuality over mass production, supporting slow craftsmanship, and backing the people behind the creations, instead of backing supply chains where someone is most definitely getting squeezed or exploited.

Thank you for recognising the importance of supporting Australia's creative scene in challenging financial times. Thank you for showing up, supporting makers, and helping keep creativity and small-batch craftsmanship alive in Australia.
