Today is for all the little things that make Dad unmistakably Dad.
The stories we’ve heard approximately 47 times. 😂
The hobbies he can talk about forever.
The things he kept from years ago because, apparently, “they don’t make them like this anymore.”
And all those small, ordinary moments that somehow become the memories we keep.
To all the dads, grandads, stepdads and father figures out there — we hope you get to spend today enjoying the people, stories and things that make you happy.

When we’re young, being different can feel like a very big thing.

Sometimes it’s the part of ourselves we notice first. Sometimes it’s the part we wish other people wouldn’t notice at all.

And that’s one of the things I’ve always liked about Dumbo’s story.

The thing that made him different eventually became the very thing that let him fly.

Maybe growing up isn’t always about changing who we are.

Maybe it’s learning that not everything about us was meant to be fixed. 💛

We grew up… but he stayed five. ❤️

There are some characters that seem permanently attached to a particular part of our childhood.

For many of us, Shin-chan was there during those noisy afternoons — causing trouble, pulling ridiculous faces and making us laugh at jokes we probably understood very differently back then. 😂

And somehow, seeing that familiar little face again years later brings a bit of that feeling back.

Except now the television has become a laptop.
The crayons have become notebooks and paperwork.
And the childhood bedroom has become a grown-up desk.

But Shin-chan?

Still five.
Still cheeky.
Still making us smile.

Some childhood friends never really leave us. They simply find a new home in our grown-up lives. 💛

About 15 years ago, I bought this little Gundam model.

And then, apparently, I decided the appropriate thing to do was leave it waiting for me for a decade and a half. 😂

I finally took it out because I wanted to build it with my son and let it become his little robot.

What I didn’t expect was how quickly the whole process reminded me why I enjoyed building these in the first place.

Cutting the pieces out. Putting everything together. Watching a little pile of plastic slowly become a character.

It was ridiculously fun.

Which is slightly unfortunate… because there’s now an MGSD Wing Gundam nearby.

And after this?

There is absolutely no chance I’m leaving that one unbuilt. 🤣

Some hobbies just wait for you to come back.
