If your luggage setup relies on “ROK straps + optimism,” we salute you – but there IS a better option.
The Enduristan Standard Interface is a patented, modular mounting grid that lets you add (or remove) storage in a clean, repeatable, lockable way. No strap roulette. No shifting loads.
The “what”, the “why”, and the “how” lives in the latest Enduristan blog post. Go check it out – and share your own modular motorcycle luggage solutions in the comments below!

“A few years back on a stretch of a Hungarian off-road trail, I learned that mud is not just a surface. It is a lifestyle.
It was a nasty, sticky mud fest. The kind that clings like clay and slowly turns your bike into a heavy, judgmental sculpture. I struggled on, feeling very brave and very stupid in equal measure.
Then the bike started to feel… floaty. Like the front end was doing its own interpretive dance.
My brain in desperation: “Probably just the mud.”
My gut: “That is a flat tire.”
My decision: to ride a few more kilometers in denial, because how do you even get a flat tire in MUD?
Spoiler: you can. And you know you have a flat when you have a flat. It just takes you a while to admit it to yourself.
I finally stop. Check the front. Yep. Flat as my motivation.
No problem. I am a Prepared Person. I unpack my tool kit.
I have a patch kit.
I have a mini pump that connects to the bike battery.
I am briefly smug.
Then I go to grab my tire levers.
They are nowhere to be found.
Because before I left, I packed in a rush thinking: “I’ll just buy tire levers at the next stop.”
The next stop became the next shop.
The next shop became the next town.
The next town became never.
So there I am, inflating the front tire every 10 minutes and limping along until I reach a Hungarian farm, where a very kind (and very amused) tractor driver helps me pull the wheel, fish out the tube, patch it, and stuff it back in like this is a normal Thursday” - Egle
Tell us your truth: what’s the one item you thought you’d “just get later,” never did, and it bit you in the behind in the most poetic way imaginable? 👇

Ever done that thing where you add “just one more small item” to the tail rack, rok-strap some stuff on top of some other stuff, and suddenly, your bike becomes a wobbly tower of uncertainty?
Most riders don’t actually have a luggage system. We have a collection of bags that technically attach to a motorcycle… plus a growing relationship with bungee cords, guesswork, and roadside engineering.
The problem isn’t you. It’s the reality that your trip changes, no matter how well you plan.
Day ride: tools, water, snacks, a layer.
Weekend: camping gear, food, extra layers, maybe coffee and the delusion you’ll journal.
Long trip: you’re basically voluntarily homeless… and your patience is on a tight fuel budget.
That’s why we built the Enduristan Standard Interface: a patented, modular mounting standard that lets you scale your setup up or down cleanly, securely, and without turning your bike into a strap-based art project.
Quick difference:
• MOLLE is “attachable” (flexible weaving, good enough placement, can shift under load).
• Standard Interface is “lockable + repeatable” (engineered grid sizes, precise fit, same mounting logic across compatible products).
So when you add a Sidekick, Bottle Holster, a pannier topper, or an extra pouch, it mounts where it’s meant to, stays put off-road, and your setup stays tidy.

What’s your best “I pretended to be cool and it backfired” riding moment?
The universe has a funny way of slapping us right across the face the second we start to feel overly confident in ourselves – and decide to show off. Or try to look cool, aloof, and mysterious…only to be immediately reminded that we looked, in fact, like a bewildered raccoon with a motorcycle.
Just about everyone here has:
- stalled in front of an audience
- dropped the bike at 0 km/h
- confidently said “I know the way” and got lost immediately
- “diagnosed” a problem that turned out to be something painfully obvious (of the “it’s not the spark plugs, it’s an empty tank” variety)
Share yours. Make us feel less alone.

It’s not about the perfect system.
It’s about a modular one - that you can adjust to YOUR needs.

Lyndon Poskitt’s Races to Places isn’t a “look how epic I am” book.
It’s a “here’s what it took, here’s what broke, here’s what I learned when I couldn’t outrun my own head” book.
If you’ve already read it (or watched the series), what’s the moment that stuck with you the most?
The funniest failure, the most human line, the bit that made you go “oh… same.”
Share it in the comments.
And if you haven’t read it yet, start with the blog interview on our site.

What’s the one rule you broke that immediately charged you a hefty suffering tax?
Like, say…
“I rode in the dark because I’m above potholes. It earned me a dented rim”.
“Thought the tent didn’t really need ALL the pegs. Woke up with tent wrapped around my face”.
“Ignored the clouds and didn’t put the rain gear on. Proceeded to smell like fermented socks for a week straight”.
“Thought ‘that strap is probably fine.’ It was not fine.”
“Didn’t check chain tension because basic maintenance was beneath me on that particular Tuesday. Lost chain.”
Drop your best “I knew better” moment in the comments below - we’re building a museum of preventable pain.

Here’s a boring -but proven - truth that saves a lot of suffering and frustration: the trip you planned is not the trip you’re going to get.
Routes change. Weather changes. Your bike’s character changes.
You change.
So when people ask us what to look for in luggage, the answer isn’t “the perfect panniers.” It’s a system you can adapt when reality shows up.
A good setup lets you:
- add small pieces when you need them (tools, wet layers, first aid, camera)
- strip it back when you don’t move weight around as the ride changes
- keep the core stuff dry and secure without turning your bike into a flapping regret machine
That’s why we build Enduristan gear to be modular and mix-and-match, not one fixed “this is your life now” configuration. Our patented interface system is basically adult Lego for people who like to customize things as they go along: add Sidekicks to your Hailstorms or pannier toppers to your Monsoons, stick a map pocket on your tank bag or use it for your documents, use your Hurricane as a backpack, a hydrapak, or an emotional support animal – the configurations are yours to make.
Question: are you a “set it once and forget it” packer, or do you reconfigure your setup every trip?

Question for the packing pros (and noobs): If you need an hour and a half, seven dry bags, and a spiritual awakening to pack your bike, your setup is not “dialled.” It’s a luggage personality disorder.
Agree or disagree: Is “packing chaos” part of the adventure… or is it just poor systems and denial?
Tell us which one you are:
A) “Everything has a home and I can access it blindfolded.”
B) “I own 12 bags and still can’t find my tyre levers.”
(No judgement. Mild judgement. OK, judgement.)
