With the warmer months upon us HOM will be reducing its in-store opening hours. I want to enjoy some of the sunshine too!

Its business as usual Tuesday to Sunday but will be closed Mondays in-store.

Online orders will still be fulfilled as per usual, 24/7 😊

Yesterday HOM hosted its monthly Sat Social, also celebrating HOM friend Janine's birthday with cake and bubbles 🎂 🥂

It was an intimate group with life causing a few last minute cancellations but this just brought a new kinda fun atmosphere. Rather than loud chatter amongst many conversations it was more of a shared table conservation 😊

I am tickled pink Linda Skuja We won! You didn't know we were in the running, but I did it for the team 😆

"Best Crochet Article in Show". Thank you for your inspiring designs.

The winning piece was the "Zvaigznes Stars Wrap Sweater". The pattern can be found in Linda's first book "Crochet Sweaters with a Textured Twist".

We also scored 3rd prize for "Novembris" (vest). This pattern can be found in Linda's second book "Nordic Textures in Crochet Garmets".

Hello friends of HOM. This morning before I opened the shop I went out to the Showground to take a sneak peak in the pavillion to see the crafts. Congratulations to all who entered! I'll be heading back to the show with the family after work to check out the rest of the show, grab a bite and watch the fireworks. If you're in the area, be sure to check in at the Molong Show. Its a fabulous community event. Kudos to the hardworking organisers 👏👏👏

Ohhh today just got a little exciting for me 😊 HOM just received its first shipment of "INCA SPUN Worsted 10 Ply".

I got it in especially to crochet the "Sliece" pattern found in Linda Skuja's new book "Nordic Textures in Crochet Garments".. the benefits of having a yarn shop 😆

Hello friends of HOM! I just finished my take on the "Novembris" pattern by Linda Skuja and made it in time to submit in the "Molong Annual Show"!

Its literally just left my hook so still needs blocking/wash and its made to my size so a bit big for the mannequin.

The pattern, found in Linda's book "Nordic Textures in Crochet Garments" called for a lace weight mohair/silk held together with a fi*****ng weight alpaca. I opted for a DK 100% Australian merino. Two reasons, I wanted my stitches well defined (not fluffy 😊) and after my last knit of Cashmere with Mulberry Silk, I wanted a project a bit lighter on my pocket 😆

How are all my locals going with their planned entries in the show? 😄

Hello friends of HOM! There's only 31 more sleeps until the Molong Annual Show and I got inspired this afternoon to make something new 💃

I'm 13 rows in, so I have committed to the task 😆 You might see that I am marking every 20 crochet stitch. I like to do this when I'm working pattern repeats that skip or are flat stitches. That way if I see that I am not getting the right number of repeats in each 20 stitch block, then I only have to backtrack those last 20 stitches and not the whole row/s. When working all stitches, I tend to only mark the first and last unless its an increase/decrease row😊🧶
