Some new coro models made up over the last few days with a bit of human error in the builds that needed them pulled apart more than once on some. These will be used in 2026's display which is starting to get ready.

Another controller upgrade build almost completed for this year display. A Baldrick 17 port controller. A dedicated controller for the mega tree and star.

The new Kulp K16 Pro fit perfectly into the old Falcon 16v3 enclosure. The only wiring I had to replace was the power‑supply cabling going to the board. The Kulp has four power inputs feeding four onboard ports each, for a total of 16 ports — a nice upgrade from the Falcon’s two power inputs that each handled eight ports.

This board also includes onboard RJ45 expansion connectors, giving me the option to add up to 32 remote ports over Cat5e. The Falcon could do expansions too, but it required a ribbon cable and a separate board. Having everything integrated directly on the Kulp makes the whole setup much cleaner.

Time for a huge upgrade. The Falcon V3 (white board) was my first controller back in 2016, and it’s been running the mega tree ever since. After years of dependable service, a few ports finally started failing. Today, I retired the old Falcon and replaced it with a Kulp K16 Pro powered by a BeagleBone Pocket 2. When ports start dropping out, it’s usually a sign the old workhorse has earned its retirement.

We may not be doing a lighting display for 2025, but still working on repairs and testing lights for 2026. This is called a ice Princess model. It holds 550 pixels lights and are 12v.

The 2025 Christmas lighting display will not be running this year at Sequoia drive. We have been doing Christmas lighting displays since 1998 and have decided to have this year off allowing us to plan for 2026 and spend time with the family. We will be back in 2026 with a bigger display.

Well the best way to end 2024's lighting display is with the Grinch saying the end of the show. We certainly enjoyed meeting and talking to a large number of people that came to visit our lights, but esspecially enjoyed the retirement villiages visits and those who were not able to move by themselves. The enjoyment you got from our lights was thanks enough. We got plently of smiles and thank you's for doing what we do and it is our pleasure.

So the 2024 lighting display is a wrap and I am working on 2025's display if I don't decide to have a year off.

Regards
SDL.
