We LOVE being busy, and we’re incredibly grateful for every order, every customer and every bit of support. 🩷🍭
But here’s something that isn’t always obvious…
Busy doesn’t always mean profitable.
And sometimes, despite doing everything we can to keep our prices competitive, we have no choice but to make a small increase to the cost of our products. Before thinking “the price has gone up again!” remember there can be a lot happening behind that extra few cents.
Lollies, chocolate, packaging, stall fees, wages, electricity, insurance, taxes and equipment — the costs of running a small business keep increasing, while profit margins keep getting smaller.
Eventually, small businesses face two choices:
💰 Put prices up a little
✂️ Start cutting corners
We’d rather do neither! We want to keep stocking the lollies you love, using quality ingredients and keeping our prices as competitive as we can.
And from today, 1 October, businesses can no longer add surcharges to eftpos, Mastercard and Visa payments. But here’s the important part…
THE CARD FEES HAVEN’T DISAPPEARED.
You might not see those few cents anymore, but the business still pays to accept your card.
So if your favourite small business accepts cash, consider using it sometimes. 💵
And remember, supporting small business doesn’t always mean spending more.
