A Moonee Ponds Californian Bungalow, and a 1980s extension that never really wanted updating. Just a floor new enough to perform, with a nod to what was already there.
Porto, one of our mid-tone cork colour ways, runs through the living area. Laid edge to edge, no bevel, so the texture does the talking. It sits parallel to the original timber panel ceiling and all that brass.
Cork gets a raised eyebrow before people live with it. After, it's warm to stand on through a full day of cooking, quiet when the house is full of people, and unbothered by a dropped saucepan.
Highland chevron carries the front of the home.
