It's a long weekend, Victoria 🏉

Grand Final eve today, the big one tomorrow — and half of Melbourne is heading down the Peninsula for it.

If that's you: both shops are open today and right through the weekend, full of things made by our hugely talented makers right here on the Mornington Peninsula.

From art to leather goods, ceramics, jewellery, homewares, lamps, blankets, unique small gifts, cards and much more. There is something for everyone.

Come in before the bounce, find something to take home, and settle the 'who are we going for' argument on neutral ground.

MEET THE MAKER 🧡 Moya Fenix Candle Co

It was on one of our visit to Jimmy Rum spotting the basket full of empty bottles of rum on the way out that sparked the idea. The bottles are made of beautiful thick clear glass, ideal for repurposing and giving the bottles a second life. And so Fenix Candle Co was born.

All Fenix candles are hand crafted and poured in small batches. The bottles are in their second life and may have picked up a few imperfections, or 'memories' as we like to call them, along the way but that's just part of life and what Fenix is all about.

Moya is very passionate about recycling, reusing and repurposing. You will often her her say: Let’s do something for our planet and have some fun and enjoyment doing it!

Skip the socks. This year, give him something with a story behind it: leather goods built to age beautifully, sea and landscape photography shot at first light, a diffuser in a reloved bottle, hand-thrown ceramics, then-and-now Peninsula history books.

Every piece in both shops was made by hand right here on the Peninsula — and there's a good chance the person who made it is in store this weekend to help you choose the right one.
