Compass & Tide Bringing local charm to life through gifts that bring families together and inspire connection to place...

We began on the Mornington Peninsula in 2025 with a simple idea: to celebrate local places through gifts that bring people together. Our collections are (or perhaps more accurately, will be) locally inspired gifts that celebrate the spirit of place - whether it's a spark of nostalgia, a laugh around the table, or a reminder of home, our designs bring local charm to life. One step at a time, though - this is just the beginning! And it all starts here on the magical Mornington Peninsula.

I know it’s a bit early to be thinking about Christmas 🎄😂 but if you’ve got family overseas to send to, or you’re the type of person who likes to have everything sorted before December arrives, consider buying local this year. ❤️

Our new Christmas card is now available online, and at markets as advertised on the website.

A little bit of the Peninsula to send overseas (or tick off the Christmas list early!) 🎁

Excuse me for using the C word, but us small business owners pretty much think about it year round 🤣 Is the word 'ninch' too divisive to use on a Christmas card? 🤔🧐

A well timed sample of Peninsula Pairs arrived today, on a day I was juggling working from home and having my older two at home. They got straight to it with the play testing and feeding back which cards they liked best and why.

It was lovely to hear the selection spark memories and conversation between them about their previous peninsula adventures, just how I’d hoped… It was slightly less lovely when I had to break up an argument about cheating, but you win some you lose some right? 😅🐬☀️

The winter school break has arrived and we’re very much in camp can’t-afford-a-holiday, BUT… we can’t complain too much when this is what South Beach looks like in the sun AND there’s no fighting for a few square feet to park a towel, just the need to take a hot bath after a paddle!

Don’t forget though, if the cooler weather is keeping you indoors, you could always play a board game…

Swipe for a preview of Compass & Tide’s newest product, Peninsula Pairs!

Simple card games are such a win with little ones at home, away, and on the move! Why not make it locally themed promoting not just social play, but connection to place too.

These will be an affordable but thoughtful solution for a kids party gift, travel activity, souvenir or stocking filler 👌

It actually gets colder here that it did where I lived in the UK - I lived on a small group of islands off the Cornish coast where it rarely dropped below freezing and snow was a thing of story books growing up. Here, there’s a fair few mornings I have to de-ice my car to get to work in the morning!

Despite this, even on days where I’ve had to de-ice my car to get to work in the morning, it might be a glorious sunny day at 18 degrees C by lunchtime, which I LOVE.

I often get comments at markets ‘this is probably warm for you’ or ‘you’d be used to cold weather of course’ - The Isles of Scilly wasn’t exactly the tropics, but nor is Melbourne! I feel very at home in both places with my little fam!

Emu Plains wins the prize for best looking market, those stringy barks 😍 It would be totally worth a visit today even if I wasn’t going to be there, but bonus, I am! Come say 👋
