💛 What people don't always see...
Running a small business doesn't stop when the shop closes.
There are late nights, admin, planning, restocking, fixing things, creating content - squeezing in the work that simply can't happen while customers are in store. Then there's The Essential Guide (my other business) Brickulum (hubby's other business), family life, school runs, dinner, laundry....you get my drift right? Sometimes the juggle is real 🫠
I'm incredibly grateful that I get to do what I love, but I also think it's important to share this side of small business too. Behind every independent business is a person (or a family) putting in countless hours that most people never see.
One thing that's really important to Ryan and I is that our kids grow up seeing what hard work looks like. They lend a hand where they can, but more importantly they see that building something worthwhile takes time, commitment and plenty of teamwork. Hopefully they'll carry that work ethic with them into whatever they choose to do one day.
It's not always easy, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Thank you for supporting not just Evelyn's Place, but the many small businesses that pour their hearts into what they do every single day. – 💛 Alison
